Someone explain to me what they think it means to be "woke," please. I don't like the term in general, but I think that what those opposed to it want to portray it as and what it actually is are two very different things.
You have probably never hired, let alone tried to performance manage, a millennial.
Simple, woke is a takeoff on the term awake. If one has awakened to the emotional needs, wants and demands of another, especially as concerning such individual's based on their racial, gender, or sexual orientation personas. If one has awakened to the said emotional needs of these groups, one has "woke" up.
One must bow to them, confess your sins and become woke or be destroyed.
For example, if you agree with and validate Black Lives Matter's tactics, such as rioting, looting, committing arsenal, to express long pent-up anger about racial injustice, you are woke.
If not, you are a racist pig and you deserved to be destroyed.
If you believe that black people should have a right to safe space to study, only available to African American students, you are woke. If you believe that no other ethnic group should be allowed to study within the same room as a black person, you are woke. Arizona State.
If not, you are a racist pig and you deserved to be destroyed.
If you do not like the political position of your state's US Senator and you follow her into a bathroom and scream at her while she urinates, you are woke. (Kristen Sinema).
If not, you are a racist pig and you deserved to be destroyed.
The rest of us see these snowflakes as petulant children regardless of age, who will stop at nothing to get what they want.
Be careful of micro triggers and micro aggressions.
