12 carries for 31 yds with a long of 11 yds.

1 reception for 10 yds.

Hasn't played since 2011.

Had other long runs nullified by holds.

Knee rehab passed test.

“It felt awesome,” Hightower said, via ESPN.com. “A lot of work has gone into getting back and just having the opportunity to do this again, to play the game I love, and to be able to do it in a game situation. It’s a true blessing. It meant a lot to be out there. I just wanted to come in here and put a good first foot forward. I’m sure there’ll be a lot of critiquing, a lot of things I can improve on. Mainly I’m just thankful for that first good step.”

Saints coach Sean Payton said he “liked the look” in Hightower’s eye before and during the game and the veteran should continue to get a chance to show he’s still capable of playing in the NFL. The numbers game may ultimately work against him in New Orleans as he’s behind Mark Ingram, C.J. Spiller and Khiry Robinson, but other teams will get a chance to see him play and could offer him a home if he doesn’t make the Saints out of camp.

Noticed this the other day. Tim is really a trooper; so glad to see him doing so well! Go Tim GO!

did not visit the stats but did notice while watching the texans vs niners game that Kendall Gaskins had several carries and early in the game. would love to see him and all our guys stick on a roster, tough odds but good luck guys.
