Texas and Oklahoma exploring joining the SEC to make a 16-team superconference. What dominos would follow? Big 12 would drop to ten schools...would the likes of the Pac 12 and Big 10 pick off a few of the remainders? WVU remains really out of place geographically.

Not sure i see this happening. OU and Texas just working for negotiating leverage for something that have going on with the B12.

That said, if it does, i don't think it would be terribly wise for the Pac-12 or BIG to get bigger just for the sake of getting bigger.

Kansas basketball would be the biggest program leftover with the remaining B12 teams. And football always moves these deals.

"Net Net", the impact on schools like Richmond is that the FBS Guarantee Game against a school like V Tech will be harder and harder to come by.

The big boys are gonna write the rules without any involvement of the NCAA.The NCAA will basically be a logo. For football the 85 scholarship limit is likely to increase to 100.Wouldn’t be surprised if teams like Bama creates a JV team with its own schedule and who will likely be better than 95% of all other teams.More ticket sales, more TV revenue, more future draft picks. The farm system for the NFL will only get bigger with even greater national exposure.

Isn't NIL already beginning to skew the lines of this? See the BYU deal with Built Bars?
What's stopping our billionaire sugar daddy Queally from paying our athletes top dollar or providing scholarships to be reps for his hedge fund?

Here's the announcement. Definitely affects football and basketball, and they'll be looking for opportunities across other sports as well.

Too funny. Sure sounds like PAC-12 wanted to expand but was unable. Will be interesting what happens to some of the Big12 schools, guessing some try to land in Big10. Even if Big12 raids AAC it doesn’t matter. The big 4 have separated from the herd and will control most of the dollars.

It's official...Big 12 has invited BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, and Houston.

Assuming UCF,Houston and Cincy head to Big 12,AAC got to backfill 3 slots.JMU has to be in contention along with Liberty.
JMU doesn’t seem to be on anyone’s list. Looks like mostly CUSA & SunBelt schools along with Army & Boise St being mentioned. Keith Gill as SunBelt commissioner is getting a lot of airtime.

But maybe JMU can get an invite to the SunBelt out of this…
