I thought I’d start this thread because some of you have incredible memories and some of us don’t.
And, yes age does factor in.

Who was the young man that we thought was going to be good, and his mother even wanted him to come
to Richmond, just a couple years ago? Where is he now?

Uh, are you talking about Grant Williams? Not sure whatever happened to that guy. ;)

I was thinking about that Mooney recruiting miss again yesterday😀. My recollection was that his mom wanted him to attend Harvard. Someone retweeted his shooting coaches tweet last night. That guy is going to have some new clients.

Think it was Princeton or Yale she wanted, and he wanted Tennessee, so we were hoping UR would be a perfect compromise. Thought it was maybe you who said it was us who backed off him in the closing weeks?

Yeah, Weir's mom was pretty vocal about UR. Bench player at FGCU this past season.

Wasn't Grant Williams mom a NASA engineer?

If only we knew of a UR athlete that could have (and may have) spoken to her...

Still not entirely clear what happened with Weir. Seemed to end up in the doghouse with Mooney before he could even get on the floor.

Won't be shocked if Andre gets pretty good minutes and/or starts at FGCU next year .. had some reasonably good lines and rebounds this year for his minutes ... I remember seeing a pre season interview of Andre and perhaps Dji or Zha or all 3 on going into their freshman year (apologize to Dad for not remembering the details) but seemed Andre was already feeling pressure for getting in much better shape than he was in. Then, when I went to the game at Rupp and he was in street clothes seemed the script has been written.

Believe in late 60’s y’all had a running back, Jim Hull, that ended up working for NASA.

A WR name Leland Melvin played at Richmond, was drafted and became a NASA astronaut before he retired.
