Greatness Awaits, Character Arises

By all means let's start another thread. This definitely wouldn't fit in the game thread. But that's Gallipoli. 12 hours ago it was "Moondog was such an idiot. What a terrible coach. I hate the guy." Hard to keep those logins straight but we're back on track.

U GOTTA WEAR SHADES

My favorite was the Epic Meltdown in the last 5 seconds against Charlotte in the A10 tournament, it may have been the quarters. We were ahead by 3 with 5 seconds left. There was a foul on Lindsay, a missed free throw. Derrick Williams was fouled, he retaliated, was called for a technical. Mooney went nuts and was given 2 technicals. Charlotte made 8 straight foul shots and won 68-63. They won and went to the NIT, we went to the CBI. Moondog was such an idiot. What a terrible coach. I hate the guy.

......Coach Mooney did a very good job with that team. They practiced hard and they provided a chance to overcome at the end. Character is not what happened in the past, but how the team responds. Great things are ahead.
I fixed it for you. I will go back and change the original post. I have since consumed the correct amount of Koolaid. Keep up the good work, Coach. #M4L (Mooney for Life)

The problem is the Allies lost the Battle of Gallipoli.
I chose Gallipoli, because the hapless, bumbling nature of the campaign is often associated with Winston Churchill. I added the picture of Winston, our hapless, bumbling rescue dog from the SPCA.

The reality is we should win very easily the next two games. Get some bench production and get ourselves ready for postseason play. But consider COVID it has cancelled everything. It wouldn't surprised me that postseason doesn't happen. The whole tournament is in one location. We have seen many teams pause their seasons this year. Saying the season is bright is really a fallacy.

yeah, pretty much feeling the same way. How is the Final Four tournament going to look when teams start getting knocked out for positive tests? Won't even be fun to watch

An NCAA Bid awaits. Chris Mooney keeps collecting paychecks.

Make everyday better than the last. Practice leads to character growth. Work hard, overcome. Never give up.
Just like your handle.....horrible decisions and idiotic egos of leadership leads to disaster. Obviously not nearly as horrendous as the real thing but proportionally just as much a disaster

This team will not give up. They will work and they will overcome. Every player will be more determined. They now have something to prove. This team's character will rise to the fore. Go Spiders.

Winston Churchill overcame the debacle of Gallipoli when he served as First Lord of the Admiralty and went on to become one of the world's best known leaders a quarter of a century later. By that standard we still have a number of years to wait before Mooney's genius kicks in. Question is can we wait that long?

So when is Mooney going to over come this continuous mess? Maybe he like Churchill should be removed from office so he can make a comeback at a later time

This schtick.... has become stale.
Ahhh, what is stale, a schtick or a shtick? A better question- which is best the carrott or the shtick? A carrott is much healthier. But, if you consume a shtick, you will only have splinters. The better option is for the team to grow. Hard work and determination are the key.

Look on the bright side - there are no pretensions with schtick, everyone knows what it is, and it is very easy not to care about it, one way or the other. Whereas with our basketball program the "investment" is real...................
