We're lucky to have a coach in Rocco who has stayed the course and brought us back into relevancy over the past few years. If he returns next season hell have been our longest tenured coach since Reid. He and his staff have done a great job so far considering some of our losses from last season and hope he and the team can keep this momentum going.

My apologies to Coach Rocco, his staff and to our team....

I knew you were good, would go and compete well, but I did not believe you could bring down the Dukes....

Coach Rocco and his teams have become experts at winning tough road games since he arrived at UR...this one was just the latest and greatest example so far....

Congrats to all...I should never have doubted!

See you week next week...Go Spiders!

Kudos to Coach Rocco and his staff. They played to win instead of trying not to lose as some coaches would have done. The team executed extremely well, especially on offense and special teams. The defense got just enough stops. Awesome win!

Have to give kudos to our much-maligned special teams and Coach Legg. They played well today. Getting that onside kick in 1st half was a momentum changer, and I think it told everyone "Spiders are here to WIN!". Yoder was just his usual great self, too. Great W for our Spiders. Just got to keep the momentum going into Homecoming next week.

True, Midlo. Sometimes, it's easy to see what our coaches fail to do. Today, it was great to see what they can do.

Rocco has built a tremendous foundation on this roster. By the time the London/Scott recruiting mess had concluded, we were devoid of any depth in the trenches.

We pushed the Pukes around the field all day today.

Plus, he landed us Kyle Lauletta. Special player and leader.

That game was Power 5 conference quality. Both teams executed on offense really well. It came down to the defense making a couple of stops and slowing down their momentum. I've never seen a UR game in recent memory where I thought scoring 52 points was not going to be enough to win.

I agree with what all have said about Coach Rocco and the Spider Staff. Remember his first year, we were 8-3 and didn't make the playoff. While that hurt our feelings, it motivated us to become what we have evolved into now...We do have a special coaching staff and team..Roll Spider Roll!!!

Agree Mo, Kyle is a special player. Had the pleasure of sitting next to his uncle/aunt and meeting his mother. Great family and he is proving we have our star QB for a while

The announcers, midway through the 3rd Q, were saying that the winning team will make one or two 3rd down stops. We did, they didn't.

The worse series for us was the next to last in the first half where we went 3 and out, and the Dukes scored 14 straight. Yoder
got back some emotion with a 48 yarder before half.

The other point I don't think JMU was expecting us to keep coming back after they got the lead. I think by doing that we were taking
the energy out of the stands and putting more pressure on them each time.

We have guys with character. The guys don't quit or kneel down. They have short term memory loss, which is a good thing when it comes to sports sometimes. Again, the Dukes haven't really played anyone (SMU included) until yesterday. They'll have their hands full next week in Williamsburg, too.

They may have marginally more talent, but misplaced swagger only get you so far. I like our guys.

From what I saw yesterday we have greater talent overall. Vad Lee is a special player for them, for sure, but I will take KL anyday. He is a really special player and is only going to get better and better. His poise, his leadership, and his lack of turnovers are truly outstanding.

Also I think it is safe to say Streeter leaving for Clemson has worked out well. Charlie Fisher's more balanced attack fits KL perfectly and has greatly helped out the entire O-line/offense in general

I also think 3 hours plus of excitement before the game may have worn the crowd down. They were so excited about Game Day they forgot the most important event of the day started at 3:30pm

Most of you need to wake up and smell the roses. Anybody that watched that game in person left knowing the better team with better talent and better coaching won. Forget making excuses for why won. We went into our state rival's stadium on their homecoming before their biggest crowd and beat their butts answering every challenge they gave us including out-scoring them in an offensive outburst which few gave us a chance to do. Enough said by the outcome. Analyze it all you want.

I don't know what he says or does during halftime, but they always come out motivated with positive changes. I really thought the team would be down after the JMU td to end the half (bad coaching not running out the clock).

All around great coaching yesterday. I was very impressed how composed our team was the whole game. There were some hard moments out there between the big plays, nasty injuries, etc. we played fast and hard without being chippy.

That was the best coaching job of Rocco's tenure. I've been hard on him and I loved the game he called yesterday. The onside kick right after the 2 pt conversion. Just keeping pressure on JMU all day long.

He still needs to win a "playoff or clinching" game, though I suppose the W&M win last year should count (Morgan St. doesn't, sorry). We were badly outclassed by Coastal last year when we arguably had more talent. If he keeps the team at the level of yesterday, we are going to be a force in December.

I think you forget that Strauss was coming off of an injury. CC did have some playmakers in that game....This year is our time!!!

Problem at CCU was we could not stop them on offense!

also remember that coastal played in the title game and almost won it, they were pretty good. i did not think we could score enough points to win on saturday, still don't think we can........59!! GEEZ

Great job coach and team! Way to bring down the Dukes and all their 1 week hype! Keep up the good work, by my season prediction we've already reached my projected win total, that was clearly too low!
