I read this as the guy who organizes recruiting - more so than the actual main point of contact for the recruit.

Correct, he's only permitted to help organize things. He's not allowed to call or recruit prospective athletes (although he can send general emails and snail mail). He can't even analyze videotape or recommend players to recruit.

So, given it seems like Gipe is doing everything now, what does McGonigal do? I thought he handled stuff like recruiting coordination and team travel, but that's now on Gipe's plate.
