I assume these are just run by the players, no coaches if I remember correctly or has practice kicked in because we're going overseas in August and we're allowed?

not sure of exact rule, but coaches are allowed a few hours of work w/ players during summer, as long as they are enrolled summer classes. I'm sure SFSpidur will find the correct statute.

Yes, I recall they changed the rules to allow coaches to work with players. I think it is limited to certain numbers of players at once, and only a few hours per week.

that's what I remember too. not full team. a limited number of guys at a time, for a limited number of hours per week.

For up to two hours per day -- and up to eight hours per week -- coaches can work with their players, including incoming freshmen, in varying capacities.
