How would the game plan for W&M change for Saturday? The tribes secondary seemed vulnerable yesterday. Last time we relied on Jacobi Green to carry us. And we contained the offense by disrupting Cluley. Do we follow the same plan?

teams play differently against other teams, don't think the indians were as up for the dukes game as they will be for us, think they will play at a much higher level and they think they owe us one. not sure i want this game but we got it anyway, hope we can play at a high level and we are quick to adjust to anything we need to do on both sides of the ball, not going to be a replay of a couple of weeks ago, will be a war.

Dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball again. Same game plan with no turnovers and Spiders win comfortably.

This is a good matchup for us. Speaking with a couple of current players, we are built to stop the run on defense which is what they like to do. We matchup well against them. If we don't turn it over we should be ok. Both teams have good o-lines but I think ours is a better matchup. We should be able to run the ball and stop the run.

I have to think William and Mary will not come in with the same game plan as last game. They at least know what does not work. I have to think they will attack the corners and not the middle this time. Ultimately, they will need to pick their poison on defense. I would guess they would play to stop the run. We will need a big game from the QB and wide receivers if I am right. Need to win the turnover battle. DR stated twice we did not get their best game last time. They should come to play with a chip on their shoulders. If we match their intensity I believe we will be fine. If we don't we will struggle. OSC
Go Spiders!

IMHO we should stack the box and force Cluley to beát us. I also think we should work to dominate the line of scrimmage.

Guess that Tribe will take advantage of cornerbacks playing off receivers and throw early then go to run game. Laycock will certainly do something different. Do not know if W&M quarterback is good enough to execute passing game.

That is what they did in game #1. When Cluley threw long he got into trouble.

Do not underestimate Cluley.

Cluley Lauletta
Passing yds/game 224.1 (3) 264.7 (2)
Completion % 63.8 (2) 62.6 (3)
Int/TD 7/16 10/17
Efficiency 143.1 (3) 150.9 (2)

In most categories, Lauletta ranks (2) in the CAA followed by Cluley at (3).

He had a poor game against us last time out, but he has consistently played better than what we saw on 11/21.

One key I believe is our pass rush as he did not handle our pressure well last game.

Agreed Pike. We also took away their running game. If we can do that again, I dont think Cluley is good enough that to beat us. If W&M can run the ball, Cluley becomes a different QB. Its another reason the bye is huge. We come out fresh and push them around again. I said it in another post, but W&M looked tired against Duquesne. Maybe they were looking past Duquesne some, but they looked sluggish, especially on D. That is bad news for them against a realky good, fresh Spider O line.

IMHO we should avoid a shoot out. If UR can control the clock and keep the W&M offense off the field we have a good shot.

we've got to pound Cluley like we did last game. He took some tough shots early and it definitely impacted him. I'd tell our players to hit him every chance they get.
I agree. He also had some drops that we can't count on.

Laycock is a great coach and they will make some adjustments for this game. Whether or not they can carry them out is the determinate factor. Jacobi was terrific last game and they will key on him. Sure they tried that last game and the credit as another poster has already noted goes to our O line for opening up holes for Jacobi. Lauletta played well and the line should allow him to do so again. Our kicking game is/was the weak spot but we worked that out well. On D if we play as well as last game we are in great shape! Win the turnover battle and win the game............... Go Spiders!

W&M will put much more pressure in the pass rush to attempt to force errors there. Hurrying the QB is the only way to stop that part of our game and get turnovers.

Big gap in special teams play. W&M has all conference everybody, Spiders have, well, our problems have been battered around here all year.
