Just an unbelievable overall performance. Some observations:

-I said in an earlier thread that we might be expecting too much from Kyle this year. Boy was I wrong.
-I said in another earlier thread that Right Tackle is the position that most worried me. Sink or Swim for Kliebert. He swan and swam well.
-Bevels may be better than Reggie Diggs was last year.
-Tyler Wilkins is a Brian Brown clone.
-Garrett Hudson did a ton of damage in the middle.
-Caleb Drake on the jet sweep. Speed.
-All the running backs were really impressive. I really loved that stretch late in the first quarter where Thompson ran a beautiful stretch plan to the right (behind Kliebert, i might add) and then Goodall got a great run to the left.
-They couldn't block Craig.
-Brandon Waller was playing great until that weak call got him tossed.
-Having Joe Nelson in that DL rotation is huge. Some of the young pups here were excellent too... Wiggins, Booker.
-Love the swagger from Mainsah after the pick. The UVA fan (dad with a little kid) in the front row that subsequently stood up and gave Taifon the finger was pure garbage.
-Both kickers - wow.
-Helkowski - we didn't even punt until late but he had some great hang time.
-We had a great view and it was awesome seeing the emotion on the sideline at the end of the game. The cat and mouse with the water cooler and Rocco - hilarious.
-Saw more emotion than i sort of expected from John Garrett. Loved it. Was Cosh upstairs? I didn't see him.

Bring on Latrell.

My daughter (UVA grad) and I made the trip to C-ville yesterday. What a great victory for the Spiders. To my mind, this one ranks just a notch below the 2008 FCS win over Montana. Go Spiders!

It looks to me like Bronco spent too much time on numbers, the wearing of the logo and how to line up to go out on the field in preseason than he did coaching his guys up. He basically blamed loss on former staff and his players. Too early to judge but not a good sign.

Agreed. His whole operation appears pretty juvenile at the moment.

I wonder what ML was thinking when he plopped down in his recliner last night.

Bevels truly does have prospect potential. And I was completely with you regarding Kliebert, biggest question mark we had entering the year. That question has been answered.

Richmond seemed to be injury free yesterday, is there any report? Also, why can't Segers handle kickoffs if he's fine for 50+ yard FGs?

^^Groin injury. Kickoffs require running down the field, possibly in different directions. Placements don't.

Regarding kickoffs, Griffin is perfect. He kicks it just where Rocco wants it, thus preventing returns. Talking with Griffin's dad this morning he said that Griffin was a cornerback in high school but too small to play it in college. He said his son loves to hit and in fact said he really enjoyed being in on a tackle yesterday. OSC

Think Mo nailed it, but to add a couple of thoughts. Was impressed with Conniker - he made some big plays. Also, can folks finally stop whining about the TE? Hudson got a ton of looks and did some real damage. We have a ton of options in the passing game, Browns numbers may go down this year just because so many others will contribute.

Although we start a lot of Jrs and Srs (18, I believe), we managed to play 6 or 7 freshmen and 14 or 15 Sophs (Not sure about Deontez Thompson-seen he referred to as a R-Fr and as a Soph. Which is it?). Bodes well for the future.

I thought we played very well all around. Love the use of the tight end. Offensive line did very nice job creating holes and protecting Lauletta. That 3-4 defense is usually not my favorite, because I think you should always put pressure on college QBs. Their QB burned us fairly well when he had time. I thought we tackled well and closed on the ball quickly. Kicker was deadly accurate, but kicking the ball to the 30 yard line every time is concerning. UR was by far the best team on the field Saturday and we had a ball being there. UR fans were great and made a lot of noise.
