I stated earlier that we we will start off 3 and 5 in conference play and finish at 10 and 8 if we do not have any major injuries. I am sticking with my prediction. RI will be a difficult game on Wednesday. I think we will lose by 8. With that said our team could get hot and win this game.

Langevine will have 20 & 10 against our weak interior. They play zone and we don’t break 60. Lose by double digits

Rhode Island will give our home crowd an in depth look at the talent differential between us and upper half A-10 squads.

Because everything is going so poorly right now, this is the game where we have awful possessions but are 11/23 from 3 while URI misses a lot of open looks. Losing this game by 10+ seems like the easy pick so I'll say its actually a tight game

Tornado warnings in effect from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in River Road corridor. Everyone is urged to seek shelter!

I say we lose by 5 miss a few free throws down the stretch like we did a few years ago against RI at home....

$5 tickets email just went out! "Mutts gone nuts" at halftime!

Maybe one of them can drop one on the floor again and reverse the dog riding a monkey curse that has haunted our program for years now.

Don't forget to PURCAHSE your pick 8 plan.

Pretty much every email from our basketball program has a misspelling in a headline or call to action button. Seems emblematic of the asleep at the wheel feeling coming out of the Robins Center.

Two of their starters are battling injuries. Fatts Russell missed the Stl game with a concussion he suffered in practice last week and their freshman Jermaine Harris rolled his ankle in the first half and was limited the rest of the game. It's not clear if Russell will play or not.

-1? How is that even possible?
The answer is probably cause the A10 is weak again this year. We see how poor Mooney's team has been this year. Follow some of the other squads closely and probably won't be impressed either. Kenny has RI by 2 while 5 other predicting sites have it 1, 1, 3, 5, 6 and take into account they usually give the home team 4 points.

Rhody 2019 too isn't resembling past teams. I also surmise Maniac Hurley >>> Cox. Their offense isn't where it's been in the past. Fatts R has been HORRIFIC. He's 15-83 with 3PTA for 18% and only 39% with 2PTA. I watched one game and this guy just kept chucking them up and his on court decision making wasn't even his number being 1! They are not deep going 7 with Fatts in there. What RI still does is play tenacious D! Their 3PT defense is ranked 9th not giving up much beyond the line but maybe a plus (bad 3PT shooting by UR this season) if Mooney could come up with an inside offensive game plan?

So I see two things, if Spiders can't get much from deep, can Mooney's offense that has the capacity to get 90 o_O go inside and score enough to win. GG didn't get much against Cunnigham and Langevine is a better defender. Hopefully GG bounces back. Second point is as bad as Rhody's offense has been, so has UR's defense. So which team wins this battle in performing better than they have so far this season? RI doesn't have Dayton's offensive prowess and Langevine isn't equal to Cunningham on offense.

I guess once again my suggestion if UR can't stop RI from scoring inside, would be to employ a pack-it-in traditional zone keeping GG no further than 10 feet from the basket guarding players and force them to beat you from the outside. I mean RI is shooting 26.1% from deep ranked #347. That is with Fatts R in there, maybe let's hope he plays.:)

And please for the pro-Mooney posters, if the Spiders win I don't see it as some major upset or coming out party that this team is going to be headed to a top 4 A10 slot. Has to continue beyond and the A10 presently resembles the CAA with the league expecting to get only one bid.

Seems like Fan1 and '05's little itty bitty message board and the #FMM twittering are getting quite some attention. We know staff and players read it, seems like national and A10 media markets catching on big time too. #FMM starting to feel quite empowered!!!!!

On Rhode Island - I was catching a flight on Monday afternoon at RIC and the RI Team got off the plane I was catching - interesting that they came two full days before our game...

Probably just stayed on the road after playing SLU.

Also shows another advantage we have as a program - I don't think we fly commercial at all.

I am actually Bill Koch of the Pro Jo. It's still just 6 or 8 of us. Pipe down.

UR certainly less overall talent than Rhode Island. You wouldn't normally expect a win. However, RI isn't that great either.

URI hasn't played well in Richmond in recent past. They are on an extended road trip. They have some injury issues. They didn't look that good in the road loss to St. Louis.

Unless the Spiders stink it up like they did in Dayton (which of course is always possible), I see this game as a good chance for Spiders to get a win.

I am going to change my forecast to win by 2. I think Golden and Cayo are both going to come up big.

Based on all the other comments, it seem like everyone thinks we will lose by a huge margin, but if we happen to win it doesn’t count because of a number of technical issues. Also, if we do well in the A 10 that also doesn’t count either due to additional technical issues. We also can’t use youth as an excuse even though 90% of our scoring is from Freshman and sophomore. All of our opinions should be based on blogs created by Dayton fans (they are extremely knowledgeable). We shouldn’t send our children to U of R, because most of the students are spoiled and the school lacks direction. Finally, Mooney sucks, Mooney sucks, and Mooney sucks. Does that sound correct?

Bring back the glory days of 3 invitations excluding automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament in 79 year! (Sorry, Mooney has one of those invitations. 2 invitations in 66 years)

Did you see my predictions? I am predicting UR by 1.5 in my latest.
