I know Mooney said on his show the other night that we must likely wouldn't, but get a game on Saturday or Sunday!! DO IT. If you want ANY chance at an at-large, find a good opponent and beat them.
I'm not entirely sure how this works with adding games. If the presumption is that we'll be able to reschedule all postponed A-10 games, then we can't add anybody without exceeding the NCAA max.
Now, there's a strong likelihood there will be enough postponements that many teams won't logistically be able to get the full 18 A-10 games in, but we don't know if that'll be us.

Just checked and our open dates don't overlap with Fordham's, so as of now there's no simple reschedule date. We've got a window around January 18 and one around February 15. Beyond that, we're squeezing pretty close to existing games.
Who knows what may open up as other postponements happen, but also keep in mind that this will be Fordham's third postponement, so it's not just us they'll be trying to fit in.

I remember seeing Nelson and Noyes on the sideline last night, but did not see Dread. Hopefully it was caught early enough to avoid further issues
I have to give kudos to UR for letting the fans in last night. I am sure the pressure was immense to keep us out. Glad some one has shown some balls so far this year.
I say just schedule an OOC game and tell Fordham to shove it. "Oops, sorry – you weren't ready to play us and we couldn't wait around hoping you would be later." And really, that should be the way this works. There are no guarantees that any postponed games will be played, so teams should be allowed to schedule other games if they can get them.
Mason just went on Covid pause as well. They are a next opponent after Fordham. Might be a while before we get on the court again. I would say we have been very fortunate to make it thus far unscathed but then I look at our record and say maybe we should have had a Covid pause earlier.
That would be my preference as well, but I'm sure Bernie & Co. would have something to say about that.
They went on pause Monday following their Kansas trip, so yeah, could be iffy whether they'll be ready for next Tuesday. They've had a rough go with opponents having pauses, and now they've been hit themselves.

This would be much more feasible had it been during the non conference slate. Outside the A10 getting creative and rescheduling games I don't see any way we are getting a game this weekend unless its against a D3 team.
Obviously it depends who else is available but between other games getting called off and some teams that probably don't have weekend games scheduled, there should be a few options.
There are lots of teams who games got cancelled due to Covid in another program. Would suggest our staff contact everyone one of them that makes sense from both a resume enhancement and geographical fit to get there. Mason just got Kansas last week. You don't know if you don't call. What do we have to lose (yeah, another game, but we really need a huge W to make a dent in our sad resume).
Does it matter? We aren't getting an at-large anyway. All that matters is A10 tournament.

Basically agree, but that's why we have nothing to lose. If we get a top-40 type and win, who knows. If they beat us, it's experience against a good opponent and the loss doesn't matter anyway.
Resume? You and I both know any shot at an ALB is dead.
Any schools currently fit that narrative of both a resume enhancement and geography? And are they giving us a return game next year, if not what's the payout for us? They aren't paying us you say? So drop a five to six figure lump sum from our own budget on a road game with no return? How do we not know they already aren't doing that already? Do we need to make a reality TV show out of it to satisfy a rightfully frustrated and pissed off fan base at the underachievement from this season(and from years past)? I hate that I have to add the disclaimer as this isn't a defense of Mooney so much as I don't understand how fans just expect to reschedule stuff on a whim with several other factors at play.
Mason had not exhausted all their NC opponents (Neither had Kansas) like we had so its much easier for them to do that. If the A10 has a directive not to exceed the NC slate then not a whole lot you can do other than give a middle finger to the A10 and rogue schedule, which I am not so sure is a bright idea after we dropped the ball with SLU last season. If we flew halfway across the country to get our asses handed to us by a top 10 program we would complain that we should of just taken a break. Id agree with you if this was mid December but once you are in the conference slate it becomes hard to navigate.
Our best hope is the A10 and UR admin are both competent enough (LOL) to move around some conference games so we don't have a week off but I am not holding my breath after seeing how the first week unfolded.
All good points, I agree with Eight though, what do we have to lose. If we call around and find someone and our guys wanna play some good competition, go for it. Let the league figure it out later, all of these games aren't being made up, it is just impossible to do so.
As for $$$, Loyola Chicago and San Fran just played a game today at Salt Lake City Community College. If those schools budgets can afford it, I suspect ours can as well. I'm sure Mooney has a bunch of incentives in his contract that I'm pretty sure he never collects, use that money.
Mason going on Covid pause sucks. More personal news, CH_Spider has entered Covid protocol for testing positive today, so I wouldn't be attending on Tuesday either way...
I was waiting for the covid pause. Next game is January 11. So probably play Mason next. Nothing is guaranteed that's why you should have a backup plan. Unfortunately no one did.

ugh - felt generally bad but nothing severe with a head cold for 2 or 3 days with a bit of a fever but basic symptons vanished by Day 4 .. hope you get better quick.

A10 should cancel rest of schedule for entire league and move to a week to week schedule. Every monday - teams test. Those that pass will be scheduled for games Wednesday. Then on Thursday - teams test again, and those that pass will be scheduled for games on Saturday. I assume most teams charter flights anyways - so travel should not be a problem. And if we end up playing VCU or Mason 5 times, so be it. At this point - we are only playing for conference tourney.

They're not though. They're using newly opened dates to replace canceled OOC games with new ones.
I don't know of anybody who played a full OOC slate that is suddenly adding more OOC games and banking on conference games not being made up. Conferences aren't going to admit that for a while yet.
But could we add Duke then tell the A10 we forfeit the GW game? They get the win, we don’t get the loss?
