Mmmmmm ....... Now one understands why the population of North Dakota (the entire state!) is 700,000 people. OSC
Reminds me of our visit to wa griz in 2000. 3 inches of ice on the field and we came there in our old artificial turf shoes which had the wrong cleats. Basically spent the first half trying to run the read option in just sneakers...Just be happy we build a dome so you dont have to deal with this kind of disadvantage:
Curious about the dome/ What temp is maintained in the dome and it must cost a fortune to heat? Definitely better on a team not used to such cold temps.,,, looks like great home team atmosphere...

As you can see. it's not really a dome structure. It was sold to the public as a dome, but when the bond issue finally passed, after a couple of failed attempts, the design team recommended that we switch to a four column structural system in order to get more building for less money. The recommendation was accepted. A vote to name the building was then held, and the name "Fargodome" was selected.
The Fargodome is located on the NDSU campus, is 466.000 square feet and has steam heating from the main campus physical plant. Three sides have permanent seating with the 3rd being movable to allow for full, 1/2 and 1/4 house venues, football is obviously full house.
I look for a great game and hope that many of you can attend.
Since they heat the facility with buffalo chip fires, the actual heating costs are not substantial. Buffalo Chips are a renewable resource, although the fires do increase the school's carbon footprint. They keep it around 70. Not sure how expensive it is for heating and cooling.

Spoken like a true Richmonder. Just put some BBQ sauce on it.Do they come in barbeque flavor?
Fargo i thought you were part of Game Day the first weekend of the college football season. Quite a show of support, but in retrospect I think

First - you are probably not that "old" since old is a very relative term - think Methuselah - 969 years.
Secondly thank you for the great information about your facility. Quite interesting that it was promoted as a "dome" is not a "dome" but is named "Fargodome". What a great facility to have on your campus with the bitter weather you face. As another "irrelevant aside" I had the privilege of experiencing "cold weather training" with the Marines at 40 below zero in Minnesota and since then my "definition" of what is cold has changed dramatically as I enjoy the relatively balmy Virginia climate.
Should be a great matchup and hopefully the few Spider fans that attend will not be totally drowned out by the NDSU fans but most likely they will.
