This is mainly about JMU move to the Sun Belt and football media coverage but the comments about Flo Sports enumerated below resonate with me.

But the CAA announced an expansion to the FloSports deal in August 2021. The expansion included streaming exclusivity, which meant no more in-house MadiZONE and Facebook Live broadcasts, though linear TV broadcasts were still available.
The FloSports configuration wasn’t a popular one with fans. While MadiZONE and Facebook Live broadcasts were free, FloSports subscriptions were available for options of $95.88 annually, or $12.50 per month, heading into the 2021-22 school year.
Bourne expressed on more than one occasion in his periodic “Bourne Dialogue” letters to the JMU community that he didn’t feel FloSports was the best option for JMU.

As an affiliate CAA member for football only, not sure UR has much sway in the thumbs up or thumbs down of the use of FloSports which shows a menu of CAA sports throughout the school year.

If even JMU couldn't sway it, UR had absolutely no pull. But I can't imagine any fans of even CAA full members would prefer Flo over ESPN. It's all about the check Flo was willing to write.

FloSports will continue as the only option for football other than when we play non CAA schools. Have to live with it even though I don't like it................Found it of interest in the article above that JMU would emphasize and talk about it to the extent AD Bourne did....................

FloSports is horrendous. CAA Comish probably has stock in them or something.

Its deals like this that make me fantasize about improbable things like the A10 bringing back FCS football out of spite.
A10 football games would be re-directed to the ESPN+ platform,at a minimum.

Meaningful Rivalry games such as UR v WM,Nova v Hens could find their way to ESPNU.

“…All other Ivy League home football games outside of this six-game package will air on ESPN+, while select games will also be available through a variety of regional sports network…”

It's laughable...Flo's football lineup includes the CAA, the D-II Gulf South Conference, and FBS independents UMass and New Mexico State. And of course NMSU only has one more year as an independent before they join C-USA.

If UR receives an annual check from the FloSports via the CAA, the size of check is likely less than $40,000 as an affiliate football member.

Probably could poach NOVA too since they're affiliate even though Joey D's son went there.

Richmond
Fordham
Duquense
UMASS (Just drop back down already)
Rhode Island
Villanova
Georgetown

Delaware and WM as perma-rivals + one FBS game still leaves 2 more non conference games. Could easily add VMI to that slate as well. If UMASS doesnt drop add Monmouth. Gives Davidson/Dayton option to go full scholarship and have a home.

You reading this Bernadette? Make this happen.

Also a certain irony in the fact that CAA headquarters is 2.3 miles from UR at 8625 Patterson Avenue......................

Commish rarely uses Richmond office HQ.Commish uses his “home office” in Rhode Island primarily, which has easy access to Celtics,Patriots and Red Sox games along with Cape Cod,Nantucket and MV visits.Prime summertime spots.Providence TG Green airport which is minutes away has easy access to Philly or wherever Villanova plays for Saturday photo ops.

Even our local high school will be on ESPN this Fall by hosting St Frances Baltimore.

LOL, St. Frances is a college team, with young players. Both football and basketball, they tend to be a sports
factory. ESPN is no dummy.
