A very distinguished career. Not surprised at the great success he has had in the law enforcement arena and multiple positions of leadership.

He was a senior my freshman year. Still one of my all time favorites. Great defender. Great Glue guy. Great winner. Great winner. Clutch. Though known for his defense, shot 44% from three on limited volume his senior year.

Still making headlines.

FYI, I can't take a firm position because I don't know English in the workplace, only met him casually a few times.

BUT, Henrico County Police would absolutely LOVE for English to leave and take UR's coaching job. Word is that he is overwhelmingly despised by police personnel. Retirees, veterans, and young officers have all told me that the Henrico police organization is in a bad place because of this Chief and his administration.

I have also been told by insiders that Harrisonburg P.D. (where he was Chief for a couple of years) was glad to see him go to Henrico County.

For perspective, this information about English isn't a hate fest. I happen to know that Chesterfield's Chief of Police is immensely respected and admired by officers from all over the region. Richmond's Police Chief is known as a puppet and a joke.

Shocking numbers of Henrico & Richmond officers have left (and are in the process of leaving) their agencies to join Chesterfield & Hanover County. We all know that employees often vote with their feet when their work situation isn't what it should be.
