That's the only word that describe this performance and the state of the program. We should never be down by 33 to a conference opponent. EVER.

Three of our worst performances this year have been off of long breaks. The longer Mooney has to prepare the team, the worse we play.

Except for Johnson have any of our kids played at Dayton before.
Its a big time place with 12,000 engaged Flyer fans.We were undersized, intimidated and played like we were overwhelmed from the get go.

Dayton never left zone and never let Grant see ball in zone. I was more disappointed
with our adjustments on defense. We looked abysmal. Slow to move, go for first fake,
give up baseline. Grant was no factor on defense or offense. It looked like we gave up
a lot of height and length.

Someone look it up, the problem is we had a game exactly like this in one of the early Mooney years.

Yes. It was the where Jim Miller gave Mooney the vote of confidence afterward that was so meaningful to him. Perhaps Hardt will give him a different vote today and it will all come full circle.

I believe we scored 8 points in the first half of that game. Dayton fans were cheering for us when we scored. At least we are improving o_O

Anyone hear Mooney’s speak after the game? Sounded like he was choking on an unsigned $100,000 February check.

Adjustments on defense? What's that?

I was trying to but couldn’t find it to see if we wound up scoring 50 in that game. Anyone recall what year that was?

The best line from that article: "The Spiders did not give up playing."

That's a major win in Mooneyland!

Listen to Mooney’s interview at the end of the game if you get a chance. He was choking on his words and I could someone chanting “non-performance” in the background. :)

should have piped in noise for practice i guess, he was asked about it but he wasnt going to do it? ; also I liked the spoon fed "question" on the teams academics. does any one on this board make over a million a year ? this cat NEVER has to work another day on his life. period. we' re all jealous yeah but how about winning some friggin games coach? sorry , don' t feel sorry because we all have to produce at work in some way and get shown the door if not, So it has been a nice ride for the Moon Man time for a change , nothing personal , just smile and keep going to the bank. this is a rather poor product we are watching though, even VT has to admit.

This year and last year should be enough evidence. We looked awful today and consistently live and die by the three. Teams just drive to the hoop and score at will.

Uugh. I saw their bigs dominating this one and they did. Their bigs are really really good. Might be the best in the A10. Any team that isn't big and intimidating inside is going to have a long night against them. Top 2 in the A10 no doubt.

I’m glad to see Hardt publicly state that winning A10 championships and regular NCAA appearances are our expectations. Something Mooney would never do.

My thoughts reading the article is how much more of a leash is Hardt giving Mooney? I don’t expect Hardt to bash Mooney publicly, that would not look good at all. However, trying to read between the lines I couldn’t get a good sense of what Hardt truly thinks of Mooney. If Mooney woefully underperforms this year, I hope he is fired, but I also hope that excuses like Sherod being injured or that we are inexperienced (for like the 3rd year in a row now) won’t lengthen the leash Hardt has for Mooney since it is evident that he cannot coach and recruit consistently at the A10 level.

There's no way Hardt can have any intention other than firing this underperforming loser the second the season is over.

The only way we are going to know there is going to be a coaching change is for it to happen. The tolerance for putting up with bad results appears to be pushing unlimited.

Hardt has had numerous chances to express his support for Mooney. He has yet to do it. I don't know what is happening come March but Hardt is certainly choosing his words carefully and consistently choosing those words.

Seems to be a "rinse and repeat" type of article to me. Nothing to see here, although the mention of the injury and inexperience does give the "here we go again" vibe.

He's already done this multiple times.

Everything else is generic, vague "we'll get better, just wait" AD-speak.
I hope I'm wrong, but I think you guys are reaching.

Hardt:
so far this season it’s been an up-and-down affair for the team with highs and lows

Updated Team Sheet:
Q1: (H:1 - 30) (N:1 - 50) (A:1 - 75)
0-1 (ed. note: Yay, we played our first Q1 game, only because the A10 non-discretionary portion of our schedule forced us to)

Q2: (H:31 - 75) (N:51 - 100) (A:76 - 135)
0-2

Q3: (H:76 - 160) (N:101 - 200) (A:136 - 240)
0-1

Q4: (H:161 +) (N:201 +) (A:241 +)
6-4

Mr. Hardt, please point out the highs.
