Why did our play seem better in early season vs now. Did Nelson hit his freshman slump?
Did teams figure out quickly how to defend us? Or have we just not meshed to show late season
improvenent? The lack of consistency has been the most evident aspect of this team.

We are paying a guy $1.3 Million to figure that out. No answers

This season really hasn’t been a surprise. A disappointment, absolutely, but not that much of an aberration. We just graduated the NCAA all time leader in steals as well as a 5-time first team A10 player. That grouping was remarkable and we got to exactly 1 NCAA appearance with them (after a so-so regular season). We’ve proven that it takes all-time greats to claw our way into the NCAA tournament. Meanwhile, our conference mates pump out appearances routinely. We pay Morton’s prices for Outback quality steaks. Nothing is wrong with Outback, just most customers there don’t choose to pay twice the price. Another underwhelming return in the books - and the inner circle will continue to blame the fans rather than admit maybe there are some program changes to be made. It’s beyond time for Hardt to go.

The answer to your question is pretty simple actually. Early season = out of conference games, most of our opponents don't know us. Late season = A10 schedule, where ALL of our opponents know us well....because we have an 18 year coach who plays basically the same every year.

I was gonna post something pretty similar, but you already got it. The novelty of our offense and defense aged a long time ago and not like fine wine. Too many teams exploit us now.
