DRAW

I like the draw, also. But please don't look too far ahead. You still have to play the games, and we've all seen some strange games, where a superior team didn't win.

MO must be rubbing off on me. It is worth a ton of fun reading the Dukes thoughts on our draw. Let them tell it we got a by to the quarterfinals. I agree we should keep our sites on Morgan State.

When I buy a Mega Millions ticket, even though I probably won't win, for one dollar I get to dream for a few days. Now, I'm dreaming about another National Championship, because I was there in Chattanooga and still remember the thrills that night. We're not playing, the players and coaches are. We're just fans, and we can look ahead as far as we want. Now, I'm hoping that there's an upset in the other bracket, so we can get a home game after we beat NDS!

Coaches and players can't look ahead. Fans can.

Love the draw and hope we take advantage. See you Saturday!

Couldn't have "drawn" it up better if we had done it among ourselves on this board. Great opportunities to advance.

Congrats to Coach Rocco and staff, the seniors, and entire team. Go make yourselves proud in the playoffs!

I'll never get over-confident for a first round game draw after seeing what happened to us in '98 when we drew Lehigh in the first round at UR stadium. I'm not saying we aren't a better team than Morgan State, but the playoffs are a time when you have to respect every opponent.

Morgan State was even at 21 at halftime at Villanova but then lost 48-28. EMU is an FBS team but a terrible one that was 2-9 and not competitive in most of its games.

Morgan State has at least played two good teams this year, Nova and NC A&T, but lost 93-28 to them combined. So...I like our odds. Line will probably be UR -11 or so.

I'd guess we'll be closer to 20 point favorite.

Look at the common opponent Hampton too.

Spiders are going to be a tough out in the playoffs. Strauss looked to be rounding back into form and was much sharper last night. The running game was very good. Our offense can be hard to handle when balanced like last night. The defense needs continue to bend, but not break. If we can shore up some of the special teams and win the turnover battle the Spiders should be hard to beat!

Fat with Turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes.

I was impressed by the interview by their coach yesterday on the selection show.

Hey guys. CCU fan/alum/season ticket holder here. Obviously you're confident with your draw. I expect you guys to roll over Morgan St. One of the guys on our board works with the CAA and said your QB was recently injured, but he played the last game...maybe last 2? How has he looked?

Feel free to stop by our board at www.coastalfans.com

You are right. NDSU will probably have the Friday night game because they are in a dome. So Dec. 12th we will play at 8 pm.

Our starter is back now. Didn't do great in his return but did better this past weekend. I would say as fans we are confident in the draw mostly because the first team with a bye we play would be Coastal. Not that yall are bad, but it is different than going immediately to Eastern Washington or NDSU

Well hell, you could say that about every team in the bracket other than those two.

P.S. How the hell do I edit my information for my acct? I havent used rivals in a while, and it's all wrong.

We are going to have our hands full of Coastal. The get 2 weeks to stew over Saturday's loss and get healthy and watch our tape. We will need to play our best game of the year to win down there.

With that said, we're going to kick Morgan State's ass and i'm going to have fun watching it. Just hope we can get some of our banged up guys some rest so we can go into the Coastal game with a full deck.

Chants', you'll get my attention after Saturday. Enjoy your Turkey Day.

I'm confident in us against most anyone as long as we don't make the kind of mistakes we made at Maine and vs. JMU.

No offense to our Coastal friends, but you played two good teams all year – Liberty and NC A&T. You lost at home to Liberty and needed OT to beat NC A&T (who didn't even earn the autobid in the MEAC) by one point. So that's why most of us feel pretty good about this draw. Liberty was arguably the sixth best team we played this season, and we went 2-3 in the other games, with a three-point loss to the overall #1 seed.

I think it's fair to say that with a CAA schedule, Coastal probably would have finished 8-4 or 7-5.

All that said, I expect a pretty competitive game if it happens.

Boy, have we pissed off the fans of the Teal Chickens. Checked out their board and saw more quotes from Spider fans than you could imagine. And that's all I'm going to say about that. We've got bears to worry about.

I don't think it pissed anyone of. I think it's a sign of disrespect, but not pissing anyone off. You've got a hell of a team, and we're coming off our first loss of the season and our worst game. Should be interesting.

Go Morgan St!! LoL

M State will be tougher than expected. Balanced O. If special teams avoid blocked punt ( we struggle with protection scheme) and win TO battle, win by 13 unless we solve red zone problems. If solve, win by 21.

Speed and conditioning typically work against MEAC teams in the postseason, especially when they face teams from better leagues. I think we'll see that especially in the second half Saturday.

Comment from Coastal board

Some NDSU fans on AGS are already preparing for Richmond. I'd love to get Richmond and then show NDSU that we are better than they think we are.

LOL, so now we're citing Coastal fans citing NDSU fans. We have a game this Saturday.

I think Strauss goes off early on Morgan St. followed by a big half from Jacobi. Spiders 41 Morgan St. 17

If we do get a big lead, I'd hope we see Rocco finish up the game, and allow Strauss to rest up, and further heal.

Its all about turnovers. We have the talent to go all the way, can we protect the ball? In addition, if we don't use the TE we wont go past the 2d round. We're too predictable.

If we have over 3 TO's we are cooked regardless . Never seen the TE turn over the ball. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Well they do only get it once a game so thats not the greatest compliment ever, but I see your point

Agree with the TE comment. We finally threw the ball to some of them Saturday and it opened up the run game. We need to continue to go there or we become too predictable. TE's just give us one more option and one more problem for the opposing defense to worry about.

I'll third that. Devil's son can catch and is a huge target. Our TEs in general should get more passes for the reasons discussed here. Hope we see more of them the next couple weeks.
