UR's Reggie Diggs among 14 undrafted players signed by Redskins
BY MICHAEL PHILLIPS Richmond Times-Dispatch|7 hours ago
For the first time, a University of Richmond player is likely to compete with the Redskins at their training camp in Richmond.
Reggie Diggs, a 6-foot-4 wide receiver, was one of 14 undrafted players signed by the Redskins this week.
Undrafted free agents are often kept through training camp - or until another player emerges that the team likes better. The final handful of roster spots that remain will be filled next weekend at the team's rookie minicamp, when dozens of other undrafted players try out for spots.
The Redskins gave Diggs a $2,000 signing bonus, meaning they aggressively pursued him in the hours after the draft.
The biggest bonuses, $5,000 each, went to linemen Dominick Jackson and Shiro Davis and cornerback Geno Matias-Smith.
