Rocco made the team swear loyalty to him prior to the start of spring practice and suggested that they demonstrate their loyalty by awarding him the game ball after the anticipated victory over a public HBPU, a team to which they had never lost (DSU was 0-11 last year, 1-10 the prior year. Delaware beating them 56-14 and 52-12 the last two times they played), and he informed them if they did not do so he would award it to himself anyway as he had at Richmond.
BTW, Delaware State has an acceptance rate of 47% while Delaware accepts 68% of those who apply, the latter offering fewer admission requirements for athletes than any school in the Conference or within a one-day flight of their campus. A cursory view of the team's roster shows a diversity of majors from Exercise Science and Health Behavior Science to Agricultural and Natural Resources and Elementary Education with a few more traditional majors appearing on occasion.
One would think the Hens would have performed at a higher level enrolling a number of FBS transfers in the off season, returning all but one starter on defense and nine starters on offense.
But who knows? It's early in the season. Let's see how they fare against VTech next week before we form any opinion on their chances of success this year.
That said, right now I'm thinking that I'm gonna go with Tech and give the points.

I learned early on to download Rocco and Bob Black's weekly show from the Outback (and any other press conferences I could) onto my podcasting app. That way I could listen to it at 2x the normal speed. Doing that, Rocco sounded fine.
I remember thinking when we hired him that unfortunately, he probably got one too many concussions during his playing days. I still think that, in all seriousness. Hope I'm wrong, for his own sake.
