“…Richmond (4-2, 2-1 CAA): How’s this for a winning formula? The Spiders have committed just four turnovers this season, tied for sixth-best nationally, and are allowing FCS opponents only 14.8 points per game.
Now, can Marlem Louis, Reece Udinski and friends sustain those trends against a late-season docket that includes top-25 squads New Hampshire, Delaware and W&M?…”

Based on 32's work; here are the combined CAA only records for opponents on the remaining schedule for each team with one or fewer losses in the CAA

William and Mary 6 - 9
Maine 8 - 11
Delaware 8 - 6
Elon 8 - 6
Rhode Island 10 - 7
New Hampshire 10 - 4
Richmond 12- 5

Would appear that William and Mary only has 2 teams left with winning records in conference at this point and Maine in the same situation have the inside tracks. The Spiders certainly still have a shot at the title. They will have to play their best particularly in November If they get there it will certainly be a well-earned accomplishment. Go Spiders!

Thanks to you and 32 for putting info together.

Agree they need to play their best each week from here out.

Conference is going to have a good team or two with 5-3 conference and 7-4 overall records stay home come playoff time, I have a feeling.

Spiders have played or will play all but Rhode Island on this list, plus Villanova, and can take care of their own business from this point going forward. Pretty much Delaware, Elon, W & M, Villanova, and Spiders play a five team round robin this season (probably most years from here out). One or more of them will be in the 5-3 teams I mentioned above, I fear.

W & M and/or Delaware with their FBS wins could get in with 5-3 records and still be 8-3 overall and take two spots from CAA. I have a sick feeling the conference will get no more than four if that many.

Going to be interesting.

Agree. It’s a logjam and the outcome can really get complicated, but Spiders have a chance to keep it simpler…just keep winning games!

Go Spiders!

How Many CAA Teams Will Make the Playoffs?

Here’s how deep CAA Football is with playoff candidates this season: New Hampshire just lost its first conference game, 40-34 at Richmond, and next Saturday may be hosting Rhode Island in a playoff-elimination game. Yes, seriously. Reece Udinski threw for three touchdowns and No. 14 Richmond built a 24-0 lead while topping the No. 17 Wildcats 40-34 to create a three-way tie atop the standings, also with William & Mary. Six teams are at least 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the CAA, creating a fight to the finish.
Final in CAA:

No. 14 Richmond (7-2, 5-1) 40,
No. 17 New Hampshire (6-3, 5-1) 34

Reece Udinski: 30 of 43, 287 yards, 3 TDs; Leroy Henley: 2 TD catches

UNH, Richmond and William & Mary (8-1, 5-1) share CAA first place

CAA Weekend Recap: Richmond Win Shakes Up CAA Title Race

A successfully defended Hail Mary changed the complexion of the CAA championship race heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.

CAA

FCS Teams Still In The Playoff Picture After Week 10

The CAA looks likely to have 4-5 total bids with an outside shot of getting a sixth team in.

No. 8 William & Mary

W&M is 8-1 overall, featuring an FBS win (Charlotte) and two now-ranked wins (No. 17 Delaware and No. 22 Rhody). Its loss is to No. 18 Elon. At eight D1 wins already with two games to go, W&M is in the running for a seed.

Remaining games: vs. Villanova, at No. 12 Richmond

No. 12 Richmond

Richmond is 7-2 overall and 7-1 vs. the FCS. It owns one now-ranked win over No. 21 UNH, and the loss is to No. 18 Elon. Already at seven D1 wins with two ranked opponents coming up, the Spiders could be anywhere from a seed to being jumbled with several 7-4 teams.

Remaining games: at No. 17 Delaware, vs. No. 8 William & Mary

No. 17 Delaware

The Blue Hens are 7-2 overall, featuring an FBS win (Navy) and one now-ranked win (No. 22 Rhody). The losses are to No. 8 W&M and No. 18 Elon. One more win and Delaware would feel good about getting in at eight D1 wins and the FBS win.

Remaining games: vs. No. 12 Richmond, at Villanova

No. 18 Elon

Elon is 7-3 overall and 7-2 vs. the FCS. It has three now-ranked wins (No. 8 W&M, No. 12 Richmond, No. 17 Delaware). The two FCS losses are to No. 22 Rhody and No. 21 UNH. The Phoenix appear to be in a win-and-in scenario this weekend vs. Hampton. Eight D1 wins and three of them over ranked opponents should get a bid.

Remaining games: vs. Hampton

No. 21 New Hampshire

UNH is 6-3 overall and 6-2 vs. the FCS. It has one now-ranked win over No. 18 Elon. The losses are to NC Central and No. 12 Richmond. UNH eyes its seventh D1 win this week against No. 22 Rhody before a winnable Week 12 game.

Remaining games: vs. No. 22 Rhode Island, at Maine

No. 22 Rhode Island

Rhody is 6-3 overall and 6-2 vs. the FCS. It has FCS losses to No. 17 Delaware and No. 8 W&M. And it has one now-ranked win over No. 18 Elon. A key ranked game at No. 21 UNH looms to try and hit seven D1 wins before a winnable game vs. UAlbany.

Remaining games: at No. 21 New Hampshire, vs. UAlbany

Villanova

Nova is 5-4 overall and 5-3 vs. the FCS. It has losses to Monmouth, No. 12 Richmond, and Towson. Two of those losses being to unranked teams, including 27-3 last week at Towson, spells a bleak playoff outlook for Villanova. But they aren’t 100% out of it yet, with two ranked games coming and the possibility still out there to hit seven D1 wins.

Remaining games: at No. 8 William & Mary, vs. No. 17 Delaware

Spiders, Tribe, and UNH all tied at 6–1. Elon with the weird end of season bye week is done at 6–2.

Spider win next week gives them the championship and auto bid either straight up or with tiebreaker over UNH.

Too lazy to figure out who gets the auto if W&M and UNH tie for the champ, since they didn’t play.

Regardless, all four seem in great shape for playoffs. Delaware should be able to make a strong case as well with a win over Nova next week to get them to 8.

The CAA looks likely to have 4-5 total bids with an outside shot of getting a sixth team in.

No. 8 William & Mary

W&M is 9-1 overall, featuring an FBS win (Charlotte) and one now-ranked win (No. 20 Delaware). Its loss is to No. 14 Elon. At nine D1 wins and a ranked matchup at Richmond coming, W&M is in the running for a seed.

Last game: at No. 11 Richmond

No. 11 Richmond

Richmond is 8-2 overall and 8-1 vs. the FCS. It owns two now-ranked wins over No. 18 UNH and No. 20 Delaware, and the loss is to No. 14 Elon. The game vs. W&M this week has a seed on the line.

Last game: vs. No. 8 William & Mary

No. 14 Elon

Elon has a bye this week to finish the regular season 8-3 overall and 8-2 vs. the FCS. It has three now-ranked wins (No. 8 W&M, No. 11 Richmond, No. 20 Delaware). The two FCS losses are to Rhody and No. 18 UNH. At eight D1 wins and three ranked victories, Elon’s resume should stand out in the at-large pool.

No. 18 New Hampshire

UNH is 7-3 overall and 7-2 vs. the FCS. It has one now-ranked win over No. 14 Elon and just knocked Rhody out of the rankings. The FCS losses are to NC Central and No. 11 Richmond. UNH eyes its eighth D1 win this week at unranked Maine.

Last game: at Maine

No. 20 Delaware

The Blue Hens are 7-3 overall, featuring an FBS win (Navy). The losses are to No. 8 W&M, No. 14 Elon, and No. 11 Richmond. Delaware’s best FCS win is over Rhody, who fell out of the rankings this week. The Blue Hens look to hit eight D1 wins this week at unranked Villanova.

Last game: at Villanova

Rhode Island

Rhody is 6-4 overall and 6-3 vs. the FCS. It has FCS losses to No. 20 Delaware, No. 8 W&M, and No. 18 UNH. And it has one now-ranked win over No. 14 Elon. Rhody can hit seven D1 wins this week vs. UAlbany but may need a Delaware loss and some bubble help to get in.

Last game: vs. UAlbany
