Gilly's 4 steals last night bring him to 92, a new record for U of R. He is also up to 160 assist on the season which is 5th all-time. He has at least 4 and potentially a lot more games to go to increase these numbers. When you also consider his assist to turnover ratio which ranks 11th in the country, his great shooting percentage from, FT, FG and 3p and his top 10 ranking for defensive player of the year, you might be looking at the top point guard in the country.

As good as Jacob has played this season, his performance going by stats has dropped since A10 play started. I had him slightly ahead of Fatts and ahead of Lofton in the thread for top 5 players in A10. Right now I have him behind Fatts and a tossup between him and Lofton.

That said of course IMO Jacob has no equal that I have seen in stealing the ball from opponents this season, but don't think that aspect of his game solely will get him the award.

I disagree I would so much rather have gilyard on the team than fatts.

I would too but just feeling Fatts has had the better total season so far this year. Points do take a priority for me even though I believed the deeper stats across the board favored Jacob.

My comments about Gilly are best in the nation and not just A10. Stats should be used for whole season. Fatts is strong competition, although Gilly beats him in almost every category with the exception of points per game. Let's not forget Gilly lead the A10 in scoring last year in conference play. He has chosen to put winning ahead of maximizing points per game.
