Things we can’t dispute...in terms of game balls awarded Rocco > Huesman

I miss him too. 8 games into his second season we were 2-6. Those were the days.

Very true Broccoli, though you selected really his only low point during his 5 years here. He did win the last 4 games that season, and his other 4 years (regular season) he was 8-3, 8-4, 8-3, and 8-3.... as well as 5 playoff victories.

I like Huesman and didn't particularly like Rocco, but it shouldn't be about personalities. What I meant to say is that I miss his coaching style.

I don’t subscribe to the instant results need be it for corporate earnings or sports teams.

I get it Rick; we agree more than we differ. I may have selected his low point, but that was for a reason. We are 8 games into year 2 now - the exact same point. Perhaps this is Huesman's nadir as well? Who knows. Maybe we'll have 3 playoff years in 2019-2021.
19 games in, Rocco was 10-9, Huesman is 9-10. Saying "I miss Rocco" this early is like saying "I miss London/Scott/Lineburg" 5 years ago.

UR does not need to clean house. Huesman certainly needs more than 2 years to be fairly judged. I do believe he must make staff changes. Yet, at least on surface, recruiting appears to be excellent by staff. Dismissing staff members may result in loss of verbal commits. Tough call for head coach but that is part of job. Sitting in the stands or watching from home, I think staff changes must be made.

I think Rocco is a good coach but at the end of the day he did not want to be here just like he did not want to be at Liberty when we hired him. He just seems like he gets that itch to move every 5-6 years. I'm sure the Rocco former players and supporters will say that UR didn't support him but it seems like we are paying Russ pretty close to what Rocco is making at Delaware and we are going forward with upgrades to the locker room, etc. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

I'm interested in seeing if Russ makes any changes particularly on offense and special teams going into next season. It looks like Mancuso is the future at Qb so we will hopefully see some positive development from him with increased practice reps. Not sure what to make of the tackling and coverage in the secondary right now. Hopefully better times are ahead.

I agree, it will be interesting to see if Russ makes any changes. I would go ahead and make KJ a wide receiver. He better recruit 7 or 10 offensive lineman also. Transfer or two would be nice. I still maintain that defense is the real problem. Giving up 35 points a game is pathetic. Undersized linebackers and terrible secondary. I won't even start on the "special ed" teams.

Kevin Johnson is not fast. Kevin Johnson is not a receiver. Kevin Johnson is not a running back. Kevin Johnson is a pro style quarterback who thrives in a system that can dominate the line of scrimmage and run the ball, opening up play action.

Not picking on you @Rollders95 but a lot of quarterbacks would thrive in that system you described. Every college football fan in America would love to have an OL dominate the line of scrimmage. I think all of us overestimated KJ's ability to be a dual threat guy based on what we were hearing about Huesman wanting to have more of a spread system and incorporate the QB into the running game more. Those were quotes/comments we were all hearing going into this season.

Pro QBs, need to make reads and have a touch pass.... Kevin is athletic and has a rocket arm but appears to me to struggle with reads and touch passes.
