Speaking of embarrassments, my daughter and family can not leave the socialist/communist state of California to visit their east coast families. Threatened with criminal charges if violating shelter in place.

They are being encouraged to stay home. But NOWHERE does it say they CAN'T travel, or be subject to criminal charges if they do. If they were, all the airports would be shut down. Obviously they are not.

Newsom’s 12/3 stay in home order for the Bay Area includes non essential travel impermissible. Many would disagree with your opinion of Ms Ellis but few would disagree about Newton’s embarrassing actions.

Didn't realize Bruce Allen was making baseless accusations, refuted by state, Federal and Supreme courts, in a futile attempt to disenfranchise 81 million American voters by overturning a legitimate presidential election. Learn something every day.
 
No, he ran an organization that perpetuated a culture of sexual harassment for over a decade, up to and including essentially turning their cheerleaders into escorts, and filming them nude without their knowledge or consent. Also hiring and firing respected executives and slandering them after they departed.

Just because someone is a walking embarrassment doesn't make them an embarrassment to their alma mater.

BTW, Woody pledged with me in 1968, black balled so never made brotherhood. Ran track for UR. Disappeared around 1970. much more to his story while enrolled at UR.

It was filmed in the ballpark I attended minor-league baseball and AFL football games at as a youth. My parents were extras during filming, but do not appear in the movie. Bernard Malamud wrote the book while living in the city where I have resided since 1984, during his tenure as an English professor at the local university. And I first saw the movie in 1984 on a date with a lifelong friend.

I had no idea who this person was. Upon investigating, yes, I'd say a mass murderer was an embarrassment to our university. Wouldn't you?

Good. We need more common interests in this country! I also enjoy many of the scenes filmed in Buffalo landmark buildings, most especially those shot at the old Central Terminal.

As for Mr. Drake, he had left UR several years before I arrived in 1972.
 
I've been to Buffalo once, and it happened to be during the summer food festival. That was a good time.
 
Many say the Bills losing 4 straight Super Bowls is embarrassing to the NFL and all of western NY. I do not, but I’m not the arbiter of what’s embarrassing for Buffalo.

The Bills didn't lose, they really won by four touchdowns. Those other teams stole the game. There was massive fraud, everybody knows it. So much fraud. Mail-in touchdowns. They changed the rules during the game. The Bills will appeal to The Hague and the United Nations.
