the fbi is in big trouble and comey should wait to finish his book until he is indicted and in jail where he has more time to spend on it and figure out where he went wrong. the entire 7th floor at the hoover building had an agenda and it was just like the media, don't let trump win but if he does, tie him up and get rid of him as soon as possible. just hope it all comes out and how scary this really is and devastating for the justice dept, the fbi and probably right into the oval office where the tone is set for these types of people. trump, like any person, made mistakes and took bad advice on some of his hires and now is hopefully getting it right. think rex bought into the hillary, gloabalist, deal and that is not trump at all, thank goodness. he may never get it right but that is OK, most folks depart their jobs way before time to leave for all. not really as good a story as the deep state, stop trump actors who will be following mccabe to jail.

The Legal Case For Striking North Korea First,” The Wall Street Journal, 2018

Pre-emption opponents argue that action is not justified because Pyongyang does not constitute an “imminent threat.” They are wrong. The threat is imminent, and the case against pre-emption rests on the misinterpretation of a standard that derives from prenuclear, pre-ballistic-missile times. Given the gaps in U.S. intelligence about North Korea, we should not wait until the very last minute. That would risk striking after the North has deliverable nuclear weapons, a much more dangerous situation. [...]

In contemporary times, Israel has already twice struck nuclear-weapons programs in hostile states: destroying the Osirak reactor outside Baghdad in 1981 and a Syrian reactor being built by North Koreans in 2007.

This is how we should think today about the threat of nuclear warheads delivered by ballistic missiles. In 1837 Britain unleashed pre-emptive “fire and fury” against a wooden steamboat. It is perfectly legitimate for the United States to respond to the current “necessity” posed by North Korea’s nuclear weapons by striking first.

To Stop Iran’s Bomb, Bomb Iran,” The New York Times, 2015

The inescapable conclusion is that Iran will not negotiate away its nuclear program. Nor will sanctions block its building a broad and deep weapons infrastructure. The inconvenient truth is that only military action like Israel’s 1981 attack on Saddam Hussein’s Osirak reactor in Iraq or its 2007 destruction of a Syrian reactor, designed and built by North Korea, can accomplish what is required. Time is terribly short, but a strike can still succeed.

Rendering inoperable the Natanz and Fordow uranium-enrichment installations and the Arak heavy-water production facility and reactor would be priorities. So, too, would be the little-noticed but critical uranium-conversion facility at Isfahan. An attack need not destroy all of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, but by breaking key links in the nuclear-fuel cycle, it could set back its program by three to five years. The United States could do a thorough job of destruction, but Israel alone can do what’s necessary. Such action should be combined with vigorous American support for Iran’s opposition, aimed at regime change in Tehran.

A ‘Three-State Solution’ For Middle East Peace,” The Washington Times, 2014

For more than two decades, U.S. policymakers have generally acceded to Palestinian insistence that a new state be created for them, stitching together the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. These territories have no particular history either of national identity or of economic interdependence. They are simply bits and pieces of the collapsed Ottoman Empire and the failed League of Nations’ post-World War I mandate system.

The only logic underlying the demand for a Palestinian state is the political imperative of Israel’s opponents to weaken and encircle the Jewish state, thereby minimizing its potential to establish secure and defensible borders. The cruelest irony is that by using the Palestinian people as the tip of the spear against Israel, their supposed advocates have caused the Palestinians extensive suffering. Their economic well-being, their potential for development and the prospect of living under a noncorrupt, representative government have been lost in the shuffle of challenging Israel’s very right to exist.

Paris Attacks: Four Important Lessons World Must Learn From French Tragedy,” Fox News, 2015

This is not a matter for the criminal law, as many American political and academic leaders, including the President, have insisted, even after the September 11, 2001, attacks.

This is a war, as President Hollande has forthrightly called it, not a slightly enhanced version of thieves knocking over the corner grocery store within an ordered civil society. And the mechanism of response must be to destroy the source of the threat, not prosecute it, not contain it, not hope that we will “ultimately” destroy it. “Ultimately” is too far away. [...]

Knee-jerk, uninformed and often wildly inaccurate criticisms of programs (such as several authorized in the wake of 9/11 in the Patriot Act) have created a widespread misimpression in the American public about what exactly our intelligence agencies have been doing and whether there was a “threat” to civil liberties. Now is the time to correct these misimpressions, and to rebut the unfounded criticisms that have in too many cases become the conventional wisdom.

Migrant Crisis Isn’t Just Europe’s Problem, It’s Our Problem, Too,” Fox News, 2015

Photos of immigrants trying to storm the Eurostar train’s “chunnel” entrance in France to cross under the English Channel to Britain compete with videos of the recent terrorist attack on the Thalys high-speed train between Amsterdam and Paris. How many boat people and others who seem to be economically motivated are actually terrorists, perhaps trained by the Islamic State in Syria or Iraq, seeking to conceal themselves among economic migrants to gain access to Europe? This is the same issue America faces on the Mexican border. [...]

Compounding the problem, tens of thousands of legitimate Middle Eastern refugees are fleeing religious genocide in their home countries, and several EU states, mostly in East and Central Europe, have moved quickly to grant them asylum. These refugees are primarily Christians from Syria and Iraq threatened by the Islamic State or other radical jihadis, but non-Christian sects like the Yazidis are also properly and successfully seeking asylum.

Hard though it may be for some to acknowledge it explicitly, the receiving European governments feel that their humanitarian decision to provide refuge to Christians and others fleeing radical Islamicists is far safer than accepting undifferentiated populations that may contain terrorists using the true refugees as cover. This is hardly farfetched. In 1980, Fidel Castro deliberately and cynically emptied Cuban prisons of true criminals and allowed them to escape to American in the Mariel boatlift, along with over 100,000 legitimate refugees. The Europeans are well to be cautious.

The Only Mistake Of The Iraq War Was That We Didn’t Get Rid Of Saddam Hussein Sooner,” The Telegraph, 2016

We should not have invaded Iraq in 2003. Instead, we should have finished the job in 1991 after ridding Kuwait of Iraqi aggressors. We were told then that Arab coalition members, especially Syria’s Assad dictatorship, would object to overthrowing Saddam. Perhaps they were seriously worried they were next. Too bad they weren’t. And there would have been no question of any Iraqi WMD after 1991. [...]

The war’s opponents point to today’s chaos in the region and ascribe it to Saddam’s overthrow. That conveniently ignores the tidal wave of radical Islamic ideology that was already rising in the twentieth century’s last decades, and now continues unabated, Saddam or no Saddam. It also misses the West’s devastating failure to stop Iran pursuing nuclear weapons. Bumbling diplomacy has legitimised terrorism’s bankers in Tehran, affording them a clear path to deliverable nuclear warheads on their own timetable.

Iraq today suffers not from the 2003 invasion, but from the 2011 withdrawal of all US combat forces. What strengthened Iran’s hand in Iraq was not the absence of Saddam, but the absence of coalition troops with a writ to crush efforts by the ayatollahs to support and arm Shi’ite militias. When US forces left, the last possibility of Iraq succeeding as a multi-ethnic, multi-confessional state left with them. Don’t blame Tony Blair and George W Bush for that failure. Blame their successors.

Bolton Was Early Beneficiary of Cambridge Analytica’s Facebook Data

The political action committee founded by John Bolton hired Cambridge Analytica specifically to develop psychological profiles of voters — and it knew the firm was using Facebook data. Read the full story

of course, just like obama's gang, social media was mined for personal info and data, nothing to see here. trump negotiates everything way before negotiating begins and that is what is happening and has been happening on many fronts, trade, n. korea, etc. if not for the dems, we would not have a n. korea prob or an iran prob to deal with and as stated before, dems should be kept at least 500 feet from treaties not to mention immigration. how can such supposedly brilliant people be so dumb as to give nukes to these rogue countries? since the media does not hold them accountable for anything, ANYTHING, they can do whatever they please without worrying about what is said about them because nothing will be said. we need to have an unbiased, fair media in this country and we need it soon.

that is too bad, they are pit bulls and that is what he needs to fight off this incredibly stupid investigation. when the well known and most respected liberal democrat law prof says there should never have been a special counsel in this matter, that says it all. comey should be made to pay the bill on this not the taxpayer.

do you mean the one that is a headline seeker and a Trump friend for years?

no the one who is a big lib democrat and probably the most respected jurist in our country, that guy. look, everyone by now knows this was a bogus investigation set up by comey and his cronies and they should pay for it out of their pockets.

How can an investigation resulting in numerous indictments and guilty pleas be bogus? How can looking into Russian interference with our elections be bogus? What? You really think Sessions was going to carry this out? Do you understand why he was recused?

Dershowitz is a Trump crony who would have said anything to win his favor. Stating that a special commission rather than a special prosecutor would have been more appropriate in this matter was simply the returning a favor for suggesting that the US Embassy be moved to Jerusalem. Most at Harvard Law School and other legal scholars across this country believe that his criticism of the appointment of Mueller is misplaced and that his argument "crumbles under scrutiny." If you're interested in learning about Dershowitz, watch his online debates with Noam Chomsky regarding peace in the Middle East. Or watch his interviews in the OJ trial. He is merely a paid mouth with a penchant for celebrity and money.

please, do you really think that he voted for trump, in your dreams but sounds good on cnn doesn't it? just because a guy is in favor of israel, rightly so, does not mean he is in bed with trump at all just that they think alike on that one item only. but have any of the indictments been about trump colluding with the russians? NO, they have not and none of the foreign people indicted will ever be brought here for trial. look, obama knew that things were going on, he was told but he did nothing, nada. the real collusion with russia will come out in the uranium one trials. the undercover fbi informant has already testified that all of the big wigs, fbi, state, the white house, knew what had taken place yet they all signed off on the deal and some took in millions for it. that will be the fun thing to watch but the trump collusion deal is just not there and the investigation has come to nothing of substance at all, in other words useless other than to give the main stream media to talk about other than the fisa fiasco and the uranium one deal but those are coming and there is substance and evidence there unlike the mueller deal. he will screw this up just like he did penn state and whitey bulger in boston.

When facts and the logic get in your way, pivot to perceived past transgressions of others. Are those the only tactics you ever employ in defending your indefensible positions? I have yet to see others.
Sad.

MAGA. Covfefe.

am not against mueller personally only that this should never have happened, no crime was committed in order for him to be appointed, a very political deal and mccabe is the first to pay for this and others will follow. many of the things they did with enron got overturned, one by the supreme court on a 9-0 vote, ever heard of the supreme court voting 9-0 on anything? he should not be after the trump empire only if trump colluded with the russians and he knows that there is nothing there and just is attempting to indict anyone, even if it has nothing to do with russian to justify his bill. really hope that gen franks has an opportunity to get back at this team for the pain and suffering they have caused him and his family. have a feeling that carter page is going to get rich as well.

who cares 32, who cares. it will play out, not a betting man but bet that the losers in the end will be deep state activists not trump. we then can have some substantive conversations on here about something real and not fake.

he, if he had anything to do with this hire, has great taste. more great news on the trump front

Let’s hope he’s better at managing the VA than he was Trump’s diet

so this officer/physician was assigned to be the doc for the prez after he was elected and he is responsible for what trump did for the 70 years prior.? what kind of think is that and trump was given an excellent rating though he needed to lose some weight, who does not? does anyone think that hillary would have even come close to passing a physical, really?

I didn’t realize a quip would be the equivalent of rolling a grenade in the room nor was I attempting to incite a Hilary riot (even though I truly don’t understand her pertinence here).

The point of fact is the gent doesn’t have a proven track record of running a large entity. It is, at best, an interesting choice.

if you are going to speak and not accept a response, don't post. who cares what he did or did not do, he is doing great though most of you guys will never know because you are listening to, reading or watching, 24-7 anti-trump crap and fake news and really do not wish to know what he has actually accomplished despite the lack of help by either party.

Where do you get your news? Which news station on TV do you watch? Which papers do you read? Which weekly magazines?
C'mon now, please don't tell me that you are a Sarah Palin. You must get your news somewhere other than this board. Right?

Got it. Running a combat medical unit of say 3 dozen (generous as I know it - fake news I am sure and, if so, point me to the true source for enlightenment) and being the physician for multiple presidents equates to runnning a 360k bureaucracy.

if i have to point you guys in the correct direction, then you really are not seeking help. all of you just parrot what cnn, msnbc, abc, cbs, nbc are saying which is nothing but attack crap and not real news and deep down you guys know it. if you are as smart as you pretend, then you know what is going on yet you really don't care because you, like the mainstream media, want to keep the narrative going, whether it is fact or fiction. even roseann knows where to get real news and hope you guys are smarter than her but maybe not.

wiz, obama was a community organizer yet became president so why pick on this gentleman/officer, just more attack crap and that is all it is, crap

First, though I know it may be light years beyond your appreciation, what if those guys in the mainstream media are correct? For the most part, they make sense to me (and to the majority of Americans).

Secondly, pleeeeese Spinner, you can do better than Roseann as your model...can't you?

Finally, President Obama was the President of his Harvard Law School class and served as a United States Senator prior to being elected President. Subsequently, he taught constitutional law at Harvard Law School. He also worked in a major Chicago law firm where he met his wife. His EIQ is probably ten times that of our current Emperor, though only five times that of his predecessor.

So what are your requirements for a person to become President other than those set forth in the constitution? You sound like you have something in mind. Apparently, Community Organizers are verboten. We had moderate success with a movie star (Reagan) so why not try a reality TV star who was born with a silver spoon in his arse?

The thing is that after all of the efforts and accomplishments of Obama and others, in a very short period of time we are witnessing history going backward. In a little over a year, Trump has led us from the historical equivalent of the Renaissance to the Dark Ages. Hopefully, we can get him impeached soon. If not, we will have to bear his dictatorial, autocratic ignorance for another two and a half years. I remain hopeful that our country will survive intact and not be left in too deep a hole out of which we cannot in time dig ourselves. We will see.

you guys always throw out that democrats are smarter and have higher iqs than republicans, not sure how anyone can know that and we have several democrat harvard and yale grads serving as elected representatives who don't know a penny from a silver dollar so would not rely on that test. who cares if someone is smarter, if they do stupid things, negotiate stupid treaties, etc. they are worth nothing. am only responding to someone not thinking that this naval officer is fit to handle another job when they don't know that at all. if you think things went forward with obama, you should move immediately to cuba or venezuela, he was killing our country as we know it. we are not going backwards, we are going forward with enthusiasm and excitement, no more third world country crap, we are still a powerhouse and the stats show we are going forward like gangbusters. have no idea of what you speak, trump is a great leader and is checking off all of the boxes he ran on and for which people voted for him. you should quit with the attacks and enjoy the ride as the US is off the apology tour and onto making us great again. if an economic boom is the dark ages to you then you really need to move to cuba right now, so clueless but don't even realize it or if you do, won't say it.

the real shame is both sides are certain they speak the truth. I am more frightened about the future of our country than I have ever been. This message board is only one small example of our inability to speak to one another. I hope we find a way to unite without an eruption of violence.

am not claiming anything other than where there are facts, evidence not just words which is all i see every single day against trump, words. the things which interest me, the unmasking of americans, the fisa warrants, the chris steele item, the uranium one deal, all have facts and evidence not just words. as i have stated several times, it all should come out and then we can see what is what. if the left keeps threatening guns, we could very well see a ton of violence at some point and that would be a shame because our constitution gives americans the right to bear arms, no matter how some wish to interpret that. the other is if the mainstream media would report unbiased as opposed to with an agenda of unseating a duly elected president, it would help but as long as they pursue their narratives on most everything in our country without being true jounalists, we are doomed.

who cares, he is gone, nothing to really see here. like this, if the person is not doing the job, don't let them sit there doing nothing, show them the door and replace them with better people.
