Anybody know the deal with DB? Suspended indefinetly again for violation of athletic department policy prior to this game. Not a good sign for this young man.

My guess is he's gone for good this time. Otherwise we wouldn't have burnt the redshirt of our freshman quarterback yesterday.

It's a shame he's making bad decisions and ultimately hurting himself and the team. As we know quite well, any team can just be 1 bad play and injury away from needing a good backup QB. Huge drop off from a Jr or R-So to a true freshman. Hope he learns a lesson from this latest suspension, whether he returns or not. Because life is tough and there will be challenges and disappointments to deal with much harder than this.

Once again, let's please spare the conjecture on this young man. Last time led to a quick reinstatement and this may well be more of the same..........

Broadus loss really hurts this team. Hope he gets his act together where ever he may end up.

Whatever the situation, I hope he benefits from these events -- all I have heard he sounds like a good kid

really wish the school could be more open, realizing privacy issues, just would like to end speculation when we know nothing. speculation might be much worse than what actually happened, might be wiser than zipped lips.

I agree totally with Spidermaniac, let it play out. What if this is still related to the first issue, what if he didn't let his team down, what if he didn't break any team rules. This is a great kid, from a great family. And I totally agree with Spinner too. But no doubt the almighty fear of law suits.

I'm confused by this thread. Are some suggesting that the administration has erred in suspending this young man? If so, that is a serious accusation, worthy of investigation. I'm somewhat confident, that the suspensions were meritorious, and thus, I don't expect him to rejoin the team. But, if I'm wrong, I want heads to roll. Suspensions, do denigrate a player, and should not be issued without merit.

TB, you have far more confidence in the university administration than I.

R&B, I'm not taking sides, don't know the particulars. As I posted, if the suspensions were undeserved, I want heads to roll.

TB, understand. I just heard that Rocco was supportive of the young man. This young man is pre med and headed to become a orthopedic surgeon. I have no idea what the problem is but it smells to me. When Maryland Hall is involved, look out. Hopefully the department administration has Rocco's back. A good source told me that it was not alcohol, drugs or honor code.

Broaddus is pre-med. Heard the same as R&B - no alcohol, drugs, or honors violation. Makes me wonder if there is still an element of the University that would like to see us go to DIII. Let's hope that we have a good outcome; and then people start to ask just what is going on with our administration. But I would settle for just a good outcome.

This whole story has been a little bizarre. Is this related to the first suspension? Will the story ever come out?

have absolutely no idea what happened but we need to be careful believing that just because someone is from a good family that he or she cannot do dumb things or make a mistake or just act out. recall a past incident, terrible tragedy and the young man was from a very prominent family. let's hope for the best for DB and for anyone else involved if applicable.

There have been other issues involving Broaddus since he came to campus that most don't even know about. I would imagine the university had reason to act as they did. Let it play out and see what happens. Maybe things will work out for the best for everyone. As to knowing what happened, its really none of our business.

tend to agree putt but because it gets splashed in the papers and on social media, a different deal than a regular student being quietly disciplined

Coach Rocco indicated in an interview, that there was a possibility that Broaddus would not return to the team, this year. That suggests, that this isn't a trivial matter, but might still result in Broaddus returning later in the season.

In today's university world he could have simply used the word, Muslim, gay....... etc.

Strange timing, right after a game. Hoping it's true, and the young man, straightens out, whatever needs straightening out.

Don't see any recent news, but did find this from two weeks ago.

According to his Twitter that is his sister.

Beautiful, talented daughter, handsome, talented son. Both pre-med. Sounds like great parenting. So I'm really curious about David's violations...

we'll have to remain curious about some things. I'm ok with that.

He's not back. I don't know what ulla was saying but if he thought he was being funny he sure wasn't.
