Wow, head scratching results this week. Give ODU a pass, but UVA and VT should not be this bad.......er ...ugly. If the JMU Dukes want to move up, this week should bring them back to reality. The haves and have not in FBS is a wide, wide gap. UVA we all know is in a state of Wahoo disrepair, but no excuse for the Chokie to lose two years running to ECU, just a sign of the times ahead at VT.

UVA got hammered and VT lost. I would say that is a good day of college football. Don't look now, but JMU is beating SMU 17-14.

SMU sure isn't what it once used to be but good win for JMU. We need some decent CAA OOC wins to help us come playoff time. Hopefully we can take care of business and be in the mix.

don't ever recall a single player accounting for over 500 yards of offense
vad lee passing 289 yds.....rushed 276 yds...tot 565 yds.

seems gt tech could have use lee yesterday as they come back to earth after rushing for thousands of yards in their first two game against mercyhurst and sacred heart

If you think JMU is the best in the state, then I have some swamp land I would like to talk to you about. They may not even be the best FCS team in the state.

If they're the best, it just gives us a chance to knock them off and ruin their season. I like our chances!

Made jokingly in reference the freak-out by JMU fans last night. SMU hasn't allowed under 700 yards of offense all season.

1987 was the death penalty year but they also didn't play 1988 as they couldn't field a team. They missed all the conference alignment moves. A couple of years ago they pushed hard to get into the big 12.

I was at Texas A&M when SMU had the Pony Express; they were awesome. Dickerson was not only a world class sprinter who enjoyed running away from people, he would occasionally run over people just for grins. Well, I was a post doc then and will be retiring soon. SMU's glory years were a long time ago.

Thought you had already retired friend. It is a great time of life! You are correct the glory years for SMU football are way back in the rearview mirror.

smu has been struggling ever since they reinstated football, remember my bud, a pony, lamenting having to attend homecoming one year at a soccer game. they are one of many fbs programs which would have trouble competing at the fcs level, at least right now. this season under a new coach, they are scoring more points but they are also giving up even more, many more. they are pretty bad, no matter what level you wish to compare them to at this point. having said that, any road win is a good win.

My brother played for SMU, All-American for 3 years.

Tennis, that is......
