UR commissioned Joyce Julius & Associates, Inc., a research firm based in Michigan, to perform a study that concluded the total public relations value to Richmond was about $2.8 million. UR’s direct exposure time on “College GameDay” was responsible for about $1.8 million of that, according to the report

Lots of good press for us and for FCS football for our win in Harrisonburg. Now Todd McShay needs to work his magic and have game day at the Brick House!

Not sure what these intangible monetized values really mean or how they are actually calculated.Nevertheless, with Danny at the helm along with the product we have on the field we may be coming to the realization that our Football program is vastly undervalued and that we have not been taken advantage of that fact.Maybe with Scott Day on board that will all change.Gill is smarter than we think. It may provide for an impetus to throw more resources at the program including enhanced salaries for coaches.

Yes not everyone is enamored with the Power 5 and the FBS setup where some bowl games mean nothing other than another game on the schedule. As the shifting out continues with the lower tier FBS conferences left twisting in the wind after the NCAA caves totally to the Power 5 or the Power 5 goes on their own the FCS scenario may well gain in stature. As we are one of the top programs in the FCS this will only enhance our product further. The Game Day is a huge PR boost so hopefully we will be able to have it on our campus.

just hope we did not spend millions to find out that we received some "picked out of the sky" fake money, by this firm. would have told them that we received a push and would have not charged a fee.

Says that this analysis was done as part of a broader study on the impact of the athletic department. I'm definitely nervous about the results. Sounds like someone is trying to justify cuts. Hope I'm wrong.

Redistribution of wealth-->Cut Mooney's salary and send it over to football. That would be good for starters.

As do I. Could be just the opposite. May be justification that it's a better value than other forms of advertising.

Over on the Barney board they are crowing that on the Game Day Show all the signs that where shown on tv at the Game Day event bashed Richmond and there were no signs in favor of UR, not one ! Excuse me, the most important sign that day read Richmond 59 JMU 49 with 00:00 on the clock and 4th quarter on the scoreboard!
