Michael Bergman is a contributor and creator of A10 Talk and I’m fairly certain a UMass alum. If true seems like something that would be worthy of its own thread and discussion

Kudos for a great April 1st "teaser/joke" with good bylines for each A-10 member!

I have to say, generally speaking, the attempts at April Fools’ jokes I saw this year were really awful.

In all seriousness I was hoping the Roy thing was an April fools joke. I may be an opposing ACC fan but I always have had a lot of respect for Roy and I thought it was a real shame to see him go out the way he did. Would have loved to have seen him at least get to the sweet 16 and then call it a career. Say what you want about Roy and some of the cheating that may or may not have gone on at UNC, but he cares more for his university than any other coach I have seen. He said the reason he retired is because he no longer felt like he was the right man for the job and that his message wasn’t getting across to his players anymore. Just imagine if Mooney had the same self awareness. It takes real balls to do what Roy just did, I wish our coach had the same amount of balls.

Also explains why UNC was willing to go play anywhere this year to make up COVID paused games. I thought UNC's approach to COVID was fantastic and such a contrast to Duke who openly cancelled games just to avoid playing them in the first place.

Always thought RW was a classy guy, even if I'm not a Tarheel fan by any stretch.

Williams seemed like a pretty stand-up guy, although that massive cheating scandal involving the team that won the title in 2005 is sort of hard to overlook, even though the university, the NCAA and apparently most of history chose to do so.

He probably has two but the size of BBs in all likelihood. I don't know, you might want to ask Paul Hardt.

It’s hard to overlook but everyone who wins big at the power 5 level cheats to some degree. You have to in order to win now. Just a guess but that may be a reason we don’t win. I’m sure vcu and Dayton and some of the other tops teams in the A10 don’t do everything by the book.

Yeah I don’t disagree, but they took it to insane levels, creating fake courses and everything. There’s no way he didn’t know about it.
