BEAT PROVIDENCE

looks like the game is noon on Saturday, does any one know for sure?

Looks like the spread will be 2.5 t0 4 point. I feel good about this game.

Providence vs. Richmond Odds

Providence Odds-2.5
Richmond Odds+2.5
Over/Under133.5

I kn ow nothing about Providence other than they win a lot. Looked like pretty even scoring distribution yesterday. Hopefully we have a few good matchups. They struggled with Burkett twice this year, and Butler was not good. Grant's brother should have a good scouting report.

KenPom has us at 80 and Providence at 49 (Iowa at 16)...predicts Providence by 3 with Spiders' chances at 42%.

Torvik is similar...Spiders at 87 and Friars at 44. Providence by 3 and Spiders with a 37% chance.

It's there for the taking.

Lost to UVA and Shaka. After the Shaka game, they seemed to start doing just enough to win every game.
Since Jan 5, only losses are 2 to Nova, and Creighton in BE Tourney.
Good at everything, great at nothing.

I love being the underdog

I am trying to figure out a guard I would trade Gilly for in the tournament. I can't think of one. This is a good thing. Golden had a bit of a rough offensive game, and I look for a bounce back. Burton is playing very good. Moved his feet great on defense and what I love, is he is playing with that "Kevin Smith" edge. That whole interaction with Touissant was hilarious, and shows just how locked in he is. We have a team of guys playing at their best level all year. Heck, we had been calling for this version of Gilly all year, maybe it was good he "hid" it until now - if you scouted games from two months ago, you would say he is not going to hurt you shooting and just play the pass. Now he is hurting you at three levels, running the show and directing traffic. Special run.

In the press conference, Mooney was talking about match ups and when it came to Gilly he made the comment that no one can guard him. That is a pretty strong statement.

Cayo, love that guy. Yep, he had a down year, regressed on his FT shooting, etc etc. But he is balling out now. Of course he forced up a shot down low towards the end of the game, and I was thinking we are going to him too much now - let Gilly and Burton make the plays now. Then he makes two incredible plays next two times up the court.

Glad spiderdad and Dji are in the NCAA instead of being forced to muddle through an NIT in Winston Salem.

I’m so glad too!
