for those looking for something to think about besides losing Buck, here's some food for thought that was published in the RTD a few days ago...I was surprised no one had bothered to post the link...

it shows basketball expenses for D-1 schools in VA and the A-10 schools from an annual report which is apparently mandated by some government regulation/act...

as a basketball fan you've got to feel pretty good about the monetary commitment the University is making...we trail only UVA, Tech and VCU in state and only VCU, Dayton, St. Louis and UMass in the A-10...

at the same time you have to be pretty disappointed at the return on this investment...no A-10 Championships or NCAA Tournament appearances for the last seven years...all of the schools listed with larger investments have made regular NCAA appearances with the exception of STL and UMass, both of whom replaced struggling coaches and are rebuilding...

I assume the numbers cited do not even include expenses associated facilities investments...

this reality has to be troubling to Mr. Hardt, Mr. Hale, Dr. Crutcher and the BOT...somebody in a decision making position has to care about this...

now with an even bigger rebuilding job ahead, our ROI as measured by Championships and NCAA invites may continue to suffer even longer...

all of the publicity and alumni goodwill that comes along with same lost as apathy takes over...

it's time for decisive action to salvage what we can and bring this program back...

Go Spiders!

And our expenses will be inflated based on the cost of tuition vs state schools. Davidson is getting a bargain and our ROI sucks

Thanks Mo-jo, I did see this. I think the preoccupation with the current coach and player retention issue is dominating thoughts on this board. Just like someone posted about a '19 recruit and crickets.
Crickets because it isn't going to make any difference. The players bring whatever skillls they bring and that's it, for a mid major I still think our player developement is poor. even at it's best a 2019 recruit means maybe just maybe he contributes in 2020. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results
