Ako Adams- 2016

Love the left hander as other then Beckwith and Stapleton, Scot Ungerer and McCurdy, who has been a quality lefty we have had? These four
were strong players for us.

Comments about Ako following last month's Southern Jam Fest:

"Ako Adams (DC Thunder)
This kid can shoot. Ako shot the ball well in many ways this weekend and consistently got buckets for his team. DC Thunder ran numerous plays designed for Ako to shoot the rock. In a semifinal game against Boo Williams, his team DC Thunder was up by 5 points at halftime. But in the second half Ako was the guy that separated his team from Boo Williams, making three pointer after three pointer and leading them to a 30 point victory. Overall he is a smart basketball player who can score in many ways."

starting to sound like one of those guys that explodes about 3 months too early.

So Jesse committed on Wednesday after visiting the prior weekend .......

Jesse was a late 2015 commitment.
Expect these guys to play out their summer AAU season and decide in late August or September.

plus, i think the commit window closed in late May, correct? Not sure how relevant those signing periods are compared to committing, but I think the next period is in the fall.

you can verbally commit whenever you want. next signing period is in November, but a verbal is what we're looking for.

I like Ako's game, and hope that he really enjoyed his visit this past weekend. Also hope that he felt comfortable with his potential future teammates. The thing I like best about this video is that it does not have any "WOW" moments of incredible (above the rim) athleticism, that might get high-level attention from Kansas, UNC, or the like. Somtimes a highlight video like Ako's can help to keep us in the game, and can increase the chance that he becomes a great future Spider. I would rather have a very solid future guard than a few "highlight-reel" moments.

I understand this was a one day unofficial by Ako, I also understand he will likely take an official latter on

Good read, looks like it's from March, so would be curious to know if he has started whittling down his list any.

He's got a good coach in Rhodes, good luck to him -- unless he plays the Spiders

Is there a bit of irony that VCU offered (and didn't get) a player that we no longer had interest in?

If you check his offer list on 247, ESPN and verbalcommits you will not see VCU on there. Nor was he recruited by Will Wade either. I'm curious as to where Spider-Man saw a VCU offer.

Despite a recent 4 star de commit, Rhoades has Rice rising. Interesting program to watch over the next few years.
