St. Louis is a strong defensive team. They pride themselves on playing bully ball defense; it is a physical, grind it out style. They might struggle defending the 3, leaving opportunities for Gilyard and Francis to dribble and drive to the basket. Look for them to pay extra attention to Golden. If so, Sherrod and Cayo will have to step up. However, St. Louis has a decided advantage in rebounding. If they hold the good guys to less than 38% in FG% and less than 30% from 3, then expect the Spiders to struggle getting a win. If we can get more solid play from the bench, and consistent scoring from 4 of 5 starters, we can pull out a W.

If they double GG, we should get open looks from 3. If they don’t, I would like to see GG go right after French and get him in foul trouble. French is very good rebounder.

If they overplay our guards, this will open opportunities for dribble/drives to the basket.

French is also foul prone. This is a great game for a Spider victory. JG & Francis are due to have good games together today along with the bench players having an impact....Results Spider W.

One of the keys to this game is having Sal and Matt play aggressive under the boards and hard foul their big men to force them to take FTs. The are the 2nd worst FT shooting team in D1. We do not want Grant in foul trouble.

What we don’t want is for French to have a game like he did against Belmont.
24 rebounds, 7 blocks, 4 assists...
