I've been putting a few things about Grant and Gilly in their summer league thread, but seems like we might need a central place to discuss all of our guys playing in the G League. In addition to those two, I see SDJ is once again on the training camp roster for the Motor City Cruise, while Blake is back with the Capital City Go-Go. If anybody knows what TJ is up to, give us an update!

Nice to see him starting and overall seems to have had a decent game. We all know he can be a streaky shooter, so hopefully that'll pick up as he settles in.

Motor City Cruise lost by a bucket in OT tonight, but SDJ played 23 minutes off the bench to score 13 including 4-of-7 from three.

Grant's first game is tomorrow night.

Not sure what's up with Blake...the Go-Go tweeted just a few days ago that he was on the opening night roster, but he's not currently listed on their website roster. Their first game is tomorrow night as well, so I guess we'll see.

Grand Rapids got blown out in their opener, 152–129. Grant was the starting center and put up 16 on 8-for-13 plus 9 boards, but had a staggering +/- of -39.

Blake indeed appears to not be on the Go-Go roster...no idea what happened at the last-minute.

No game thread yet for UNI so posting here .. I am missing this one in person since it's my daughter's 17 birthday and will be in Boston but think Robins will be packed and loud on Friday night. Heard Nick will be around as well ...

Gilly will have played in Mexico City the night before ...

Better showing for Grand Rapids tonight in their rematch with Fort Wayne but they fell in OT. Grant moved to the bench and played 16 minutes. Only scored 6 points but was 2-for-2 from the field and also had 7 boards and 3 assists. On the bad side, he also had 3 turnovers and 3 fouls.

And it turns out Blake is indeed with the Go-Go, but he only got on the floor for the final 55 seconds of a blowout win. Credited with a turnover, but they cut away from the live action at that exact moment, so not sure what happened. He was bringing the ball up in the backcourt and got bumped by the defender, they cut away, there was a whistle, and when they came back, the Raptors were inbounding. I guess the refs let them play on after the contact and Blake may have lost it out of bounds?

Timestamped for the final minute when he got in the game:

Gilly doing Gilly things tonight in a win over Mexico City…10 points including 2-for-3 from deep, 5 assists, 4 boards, 2 steals, and no turnovers.

SDJ had 11 off the bench in a Motor City loss.

Grant would seem suited to a wide open offensive game - his skillset being used effectively in those clips. The defensive side will always be an issue playing below the rim.

Grant and SDJ faced off tonight, with SDJ's Cruise getting their first win while Grant's Gold remained winless. Grant got 18 minutes off the bench with 8 points on 4-of-7 shooting and 7 boards, plus an assist and even a block. He was -13 though, second worst on the Gold. SDJ had an off shooting night in his 23 bench minutes, going 3-for-11 for 9 points, though he did rack up 6 dimes and had the second best +/- for the Cruise at +20.

Gilly's Hustle remained in Mexico City where they fell to the Capitanes. Gilly remains a starter and had an efficient 14 points, second only to Kenny Lofton's 27 for the Hustle. 4 boards, 3 assists and a pair of steals rounded things out for him.

Blake's Go-Go squeaked by Delaware, but he didn't see the court tonight.

Motor City lost to Wisconsin in OT tonight...SDJ had 11 plus 4 assists in 18 minutes and was a massive +30. Stark +/- difference between the starters and the bench for the Cruise.

Blake was DNP again for the Go-Go tonight in a win against Delaware.

Golden got the start tonight and played 29 minutes in the Gold's first win on the season, but had a little bit of a mixed bag stat line...12 points on just 5-of-12 shooting, 6 boards, and 4 assists, but also 4 turnovers.

SDJ had a terrible shooting night in a Cruise loss, going just 1-for-11 but managing 10 points by getting to the line and making his shots (and the G League's foul shot rules).

Gilly started for the Hustle again and scored 14 on 4-for-8 including 3-for-7 from deep. Also picked up 4 boards, 4 dimes, and 3 steals. Hustle lost to Austin in OT in an Elam Ending after Gilly committed a bad and-1 foul that gave Austin the ball game.

Blake was waived by the Go-Go yesterday, which is unfortunate timing given TJ showed up for a visit today.

Bad night for Spiders all around tonight...

Hustle got blown out, and Gilly came off the bench for 22 minutes. Only scored 3 points but had 4 assists and 2 steals. Terrible -24 in +/-, though that was only third worst on the team.

Cruise also lost, with SDJ playing 28 bench minutes and having a second straight 1-for-11 night for just 5 points. He did have 4 assists and a steal.

You win some, you lose some...tough night for Gilly in a Memphis loss. No points on 0-for-6 from the field (all threes). Did have 6 assists and a couple of steals though.

Vince Williams shot 1-for-11 including 0-for-9 from three. Hard to win when two starters struggle that much.

SDJ and Grant faced off again tonight, with SDJ's Cruise getting the win.

SDJ remains in his shooting slump, going scoreless on 0-for-4 shooting in 18 minutes off the bench and was an ugly -17 in a 16-point win. One bright spot for him was his 3 steals.

Grant also had a fairly quiet night in 24 minutes as a starter, scoring just 4 points on 2-for-7 plus 3 boards and 2 assists.

Motor City was down by as many as 19 and fought their way back, but fell to Fort Wayne by 1. SDJ played 21 minutes off the bench with 7 points on 3-for-9 shooting, three boards, two assists, and a steal.

The Gold continue to struggle, getting soundly beaten by Garza and Iowa to fall to 1–7 on the season. Grant played 21 minutes off the bench and managed 10 points on 4-for-8 shooting (only 1-for-3 from the line), four boards, and five assists.

Huge game for Grant off the bench as the Gold picked up their second win of the season in OT tonight. 31 minutes, 16 points on perfect 7-for-7 shooting, 8 assists, 4 boards, 2 steals, and a block. And he was +16. Hot damn.

The Hustle were getting blown out by Texas through three quarters but got the margin down to 10 at the buzzer. Quiet scoring night for Gilly with just 4 points, but he did have 11 assists. Did have 4 turnovers though and was -26.

How about Grant going for 16/11/8 tonight...just too bad the Gold couldn't get the win.

The Hustle did get a win in OT tonight. Gilly with only 8 points on 3-for-7 shooting, but 9 assists and a steal plus 4 boards.

Always wished he had decided to come back for his final season … ahhh what might have been

How about Gilly with the triple-double tonight...19 points, 11 assists, and 10 boards! Also throw in a couple of steals. Only significant blemish was 0-for-6 from three, including one that would have won it in regulation. But at least the Hustle got the 1-point win in OT.

SDJ had another quiet night with 14 minutes off the bench...just three points on a triple, plus a couple of assists.

Gilly doing Gilly things...came off the bench tonight and only played 15 minutes, but scored 8 points on perfect shooting plus 6 assists, a couple of boards, and a steal.

Always thought Gilly's height would prevent him from playing in the NBA, but he is doing some pretty impressive stuff in the G league. Hope he gets a shot in the league, he certainly has highlight reel playmaking ability that would play well in the show me NBA.

you just never know, there are guys that dominate the G league for years and never get an honest shot in the NBA. and then sometimes all it takes is a key injury to open up an opportunity and they run with it.

Photographer sold him short in the tweet...that was the game he actually had a triple-double with 11 assists.
