Coach Huesman said he was going to circle W&M on his calendar after the finale' in 2019...apparently it worked!...I thought the Spiders showed real promise on both sides of the ball...
I hope he put something on his calendar about Elon...they have dominated Richmond, especially our defense, for the last three meetings by a cumulative score of 116-81...who could forget the way they thumped us at The Brick House early in the 2019 season 42-20!...
the Phoenix are hard to figure, but you have to believe they're getting better each week after losing their top two QBs...they're starting a freshman...but according to Coach Huesman they are really strong at the skilled positions...
it's hard to draw any strong conclusions based on one game, but I liked the way our front seven on defense controlled the line of scrimmage against W&M...and the way our offense valued the ball and ground out first downs when needed on offense...can they maintain this level of play?...some sage years ago said something like the week between game one and game two is the week of the most improvement...
I expect it to be a slugfest a lot like the W&M game, a real battle, but if our guys play with confidence and emotion I think we can beat the Phoenix...it looked like our guys were enjoying themselves on the field last week...
enjoy the Prologue...
Go Spiders!
