2021 Richmond Spiders Football - Prologue - Elon

Saturday presents the Richmond coaching staff and many of the players...particularly the 32 6th, 5th and 4th year players...with a chance to do something Richmond has not done since Coach Huesman took the helm...win the CAA opener at The Brick House!

in 2017 and 2019 it was Elon led by QB Davis Cheek's impressive performances that got the Spiders CAA start off to a stumbling start...all week long Coach Huesman has sung the praises of Cheek and company hammering home the point that the Phoenix are a totally different team from the one the Spiders defeated easily in the spring (Cheek and many others did not play due to injury)...

maybe this is the year the Spiders can stop the skid?...this Richmond team, especially the defense, is better than the 2018 and 2019 Spiders...hopefully it can slow down Cheek and company enough to give our less explosive Beau English led offense a chance to score enough points to win...the ability to effectively run the ball could provide significant help...a few time consuming long drives would keep Cheek off the field...

we're double digit favorites on our home turf and expecting a sell out crowd...the Spiders have little margin for error in the CAA fight...it's a game we should win despite Davis Cheek!

I was told not to worry about it. Just hope we can throw the football down the field. When he either can't or the staff won't allow it. So ridiculous. JMU is going to crush us next week.

I didn't realize that was an option. I see people are starting to leave. I don't blame them after Elon just scored the touchdown. To go up by 10 this game is all but over. No trust in the coaches anymore.

+1 to everything that's been said. There aren't enough creative words in the English language to explain my frustration with this coaching staff. We need a complete makeover starting with durden. RH has to cut this loose after yesterday's debacle......someone needs to get on the phone with our at AP although he probably wouldn't pick up at this point.....
