I thought it was a misprint when I saw the preseason CAA pundits had predicted the former Fighting Christians to finish in last place this season...

QB Davis Cheek is expected to return after missing the spring season for the Phoenix...he has been a "spider killer" in two embarrassing UR losses (2017-2019)...Cheek has thrown for 8 TDs in the two wins with no INTs...our DL dominated the line of scrimmage in both spring games and our defensive backfield showed solid potential...maybe we can slow him down this time?

another "spider killer" RB Jaylan Thomas and WR Cortez Weeks are also expected to return for the Elon offense...

many are now talking about a promising season for the Spiders...this game is likely a must win if the Spiders are to get to five, or more, CAA wins...

enjoy the Countdown...

The Phoenix went 1-5 during the shortened spring season, but return several key players who missed all or part of the year due to injury. Back to lead the offense is senior Davis Cheek, who enters the 2021 campaign ranked 10th among all active FCS quarterbacks in career passing yards. Also returning are running back Jaylan Thomas, veteran receivers Kortez Weeks and Jackson Parham, and UConn transfer Donovan Williams at tight end.

Elon's defense also has good experience as Tristen Cox and Torrence Williams return up front and there is a talented secondary led by Cole Coleman, Tre'Von Jones and Marcus Hillman. Skyler Davis is back to handle the kicking duties after connecting on 10 field goals in 2019.

Assuming that Aamir stays healthy throughout his UR playing career,he has a shot at All American status. When we recruited and signed him out of MSJ in Baltimore, I was more than elated.

Might be making my way to this game with Tech having a bye week. It’s been 3 years since I’ve gone to a game at Robins stadium so no idea what the tailgate scene is like now. Back in the day when our group went to every game we had a nice set up but man how things have changed.

Sellout? Does that mean we have a real marketing department 32? Or do you just like pointing out the negative?
