Archbishop Rummel High School

New Orleans/Bayou Parishes
QB
6’3”
225

THE QB: Kyle Wickersham
THE FCS PICK: Richmond
THE HERO SPORTS QB RANK: No. 7
THE SPECS: 6-3/225 – Metairie, La.
THE FCS OFFERS: Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Fordham, Georgetown, Harvard, Idaho St., McNeese, Nicholls, Penn, Princeton, San Diego, SE Louisiana, Southern Illinois, UT Martin
THE FBS OFFERS: Air Force
THE SKINNY: Wickersham is ranked the No. 1 pro-style quarterback in the state of Louisiana by 247Sports. He threw for 1,691 yards and 17 touchdowns last year, while rushing for five scores as a junior at Rummel HS in Louisiana. He has good size and isn’t afraid to take a hit, and arm strength will be a big plus.
THE QUOTE: “I chose Richmond because of the special opportunity it provides me with, both on and off the field. When I visited, it felt like home and had the southern feel of Louisiana. I hope to be able to lead Richmond to a national championship.”

Did I read that right, #1 QB in LA!?!?!?! I expect that ranking will change since he didn’t sign with an SEC school. Who else offered?

"Pro Style QB"...our offensive scheme would have to change to accommodate a "pro style" wouldn't it?

but the last "pro style" QB we had did pretty well and so did the team!

What style QB is Jackson Walker? Closer to Mancuso, or Lauletta/Strauss style?

Go Spiders!

All the newbies are of the same height(6-3/6-4) with Wickersham being the heaviest.Lauletta/Strauss were PRO set QBs.Durden will convert these PRO set to RPO/SPREAD QBs for sure.Beau English is also in the mix and he is RPO.I could see him actually moving to a flanker spot.He has speed and elusiveness.
1.Mancuso has evolved to RPO/SPREAD QB

2. Beau Engish is RPO as he was at DeMatha

3. Hardy looks like a PRO set QB,occasional SPREAD

  • Finished his career with 4,178 passing yards, completing 262-of-427 in his career while rushing for 397 yards and accounting for 56 total touchdowns.

4. Walker looks more like a RPO/SPREAD QB

  • Passed for 7,060 yards in his career, connecting on 482-of-891 in 45 games.
  • Accounted for 80 touchdowns in his career, 73 through the air and seven on the ground.

5. Wickersham resembles a PRO set QB

In 2019, Wickersham completed 137-of-231 passes for 1,691 yards and 17 touchdowns with six interceptions and he rushed 71 times for 199 yards and four touchdowns.

Wickersham said, "When I visited, it felt like home and had the southern feel of Louisiana." In light of recent events, he may be in for a rude awakening.

Russ,as of today, indicates that he expects to have a total between 10-11 high school seniors on signing day for the Class of 2021.

Any idea what number our competitors are signing?

Each FCS team(120) will need to decide how many of its present scholarshiped seniors and redshirt seniors they wish to retain for Fall 2021 eligibility coupled with normal attrition as well as budget constraints.UR has already decided on its own math for the Fall 2021 campaign which then defines how many high school seniors we’ll sign In Dec/Feb.

#52 is among the Slidell celebrants last night in their W.

“Kyle Wickersham passed for two touchdowns and ran for a third score and the Archbishop Rummel defense came up with four turnovers as the Raiders held off the Patriots 20-14 in the annual showdown between the two state powers.

Wickersham completed 10-of-19 passes for 95 yards and two scores and he rushed 17 times for 75 yards and a touchdown.

Patriots coach J.T. Curtis was impressed with the Rummel senior.

“He’s such a big-bodied kid, too, and you don’t face those kind of quarterbacks usually in high school,” Curtis said. “The way he moved the pile, I thought was really a big factor in the ball game.”
