2021 A10 Tournament

Anyone who still has hope that UR will win the A-10 tournament is one heck of an optimist. I'd estimate the realistic chance at about 5% or less.
Heck Homer, it’s only a 10% chance we have enough players to show up.
I actually liked our draw as a 3 seed. With Mooney A10 tourney history it wasn’t great odds but enough for 2 games in 2 days then week off. Also personally liked the late games too. That had some ok karma for us I believe. Now we get a freaking 11 am game Thurs. vs Duq. Who will probably beat us. And if not reward is the Bonnies who r twice as tough as us. Man we ate it tonight.
Our chances went from like 25% to no chance. 5% is crazy optimistic imo.
Plus I’m convinced Mooney has lost the team anyway. We have played w little fire most of year.

Winning four games in four days think about it. Golden is hurt, Francis is hurt. Cayo is probably exhausted after carrying the load tonight. Mooney continues to promote false hope. Duquesne isn't going to be an easy game if Francis can't play. Playing against a tough St.Bon team that is probably mad about losing tonight.
Agreed. I find it notable how the other team's bench is always much more animated than ours.
I think Dambrot will have his guys ready for us on Thursday. They should certainly have plenty of motivation after the narrow loss to us last weekend. That game looks like a tossup, at best, to me.
Moliva, I made the same observation about the bench, and a few others did too. Watching other teams they are into it. Our walkons are hyped but that is about it.
We would have been UMass at RC, then away game and a week later SBU in Dayton.

We've won four games in the last 35 days. I highly doubt we can win four in the next 10.

I get the sentiment but I can’t root for us to lose. If that means I still have hope we’ll run the table, then so be it.
I am so over this team...not going to watch a minute of the A10 tournament. I feel sorry for the injured guys trying to fight through and the seniors going out on a low note, but Mooney has built no depth and this is a team that's looking at maybe 8 wins next year. God I hope he's gone...I'll take 0-30 next year if its a new coach. At least we could watch something different than the last 10 years of wash/rinse/repeat of "who cares" postseasons or none at all.

Is the A10 trying to sabotage itself? Having VCU playing at home is dumb. If we lose that will count as a home loss even if it’s hardly a home game. We are trying to get as many teams in a possible right? A10 has really been shooting itself in foot from the games to the front office the last two weeks.
It's ridiculous that either Richmond or VCU would be allowed to play a home game in this tournament before the semifinal. Absurd.
Hopefully, Duquesne dispatches us humanely on Thursday. If we were a horse, someone would have taken us out back and put us out of our misery.

We couldn't care less about your season or how many home games or away games you get in the A10's. Go away.
In 14 A10 tourneys, Mooney's teams have only pulled 3 "upsets" - two 3 over 2 semifinals (2010 and 2011), and a 9 over 8. But that 9/8 game was in Brooklyn in 2016.
I'm going to do a deeper dive later, but it's even more awful than I had imagined.

You might be new around here but yeah, we don't do VCU Rams discussion, unless it is to poke fun or mock something about y'all. Given that you again lapped us on the court, feel quite confident we don't want to discuss your place on the bracket, other than to hope that whomever you play first beats you and knocks you out of at large conversation. But that is what happens to us because everything Mooney touches seems to turn to shit.
We can take some solace that VCU's first opponent could be the RI Rams.....who own them.
Yes, allow the masses over here to die peacefully.
I just want to cheer for our team for once instead of just rooting against VCU. I never know who my favorite team is going to be.
