September 18, 2010 football came back to the Richmond campus after 81 years at City Stadium...Robins Stadium (aka The Brick House) was built with hundreds of thousands of beautiful bricks...it was ready to become the home of the Spiders...
it was a blue sky day, but very hot on the asphalt and turf...the neighborhood's much feared and anticipated traffic jam failed to materialize, especially if your pre game celebration began three hours before kickoff...
as you would expect for a historic day like this a sell out crowd was on hand and the parking lots around the Stadium were buzzing with anticipation, camaraderie and excitement...
it was new Head Coach Latrelle Scott's first home game, but Elon could have cared less about that...ranked #7 in FCS they clearly came on the field ready to wreck the Spiders big day...revenge can be a powerful motivator...
if you were there you saw another extremely hard fought and dramatic game...very much like the 2009 Playoff win over the Phoenix...I'm pretty sure most Spiders fans who were there have not forgotten the ending...
Our Spider Gang video from the day does a pretty good job capturing a glimpse of what this day was all about...the history and the football...
I hope you enjoy it...
Go Spiders!
