2020 Richmond Spiders Football Pandemic Season - 2019 - Stony Brook at Richmond

after a very disappointing start to Coach Huesman's third season the Spiders found themselves at 1-3 with a stunning loss to Fordham and a very disappointing loss to Elon at The Brick House in the CAA opener...

then something changed for the better...the Spiders won three out of their next four, including three CAA wins over Albany, Maine and Delaware...the Black Bears and Blue Hens were both ranked in the FCS Top 20 and were beaten by UR on the road...

all of a sudden the Spiders were relevant in the fight for the CAA Championship for the first time since 2016 at 3-1 with Stony Brook coming in for the Homecoming game...

you can hear Satchmo's hope and optimism in this week's Prologue from the Spider Gang archives...it was great to have an important game at The Brick House again with the Spiders on a CAA roll...

Enjoy the Prologue...2019 was only a year ago, but it seems like ten years...hang in there for real football ahead in the year ahead!

Mojo you should add playoff games to the 2020 pandemic special this year. There are some great playoff games that many would love to reminisce on.

Thanks for the suggestion...I did in fact consider Playoff games in each of the Playoff years included (2009, 2014, 2015, and 2016) in the pandemic season...

however, the only one I selected as the most notable game of its year was the unforgettable upset win at Illinois State in 2015...Jacobi Green was rolling like a tank!...

there were some other great Playoff games to seriously consider...App St 2009, North Dakota 2016...but I felt other games during those two seasons carried more history, drama or excitement for Spiders fans...
