awful glad the season is finally on us...tired of reading and listening...looking forward to seeing what we have...

expecting a good scrap from the Dolphins but even with our changes and question marks expecting a win...

I'm thinking keys to winning more games better defense, less turnovers, effective running game...I hope we will see some of each at The Brick House tomorrow...

good luck to all players, coaches and fans for a healthy season and the best possible outcome...

enjoy the Prologue...let's play

Go Spiders!

When on defense, UR needs to control the triple option and the QB. I hope it is not a difficult task for the defense to keep their assignments, which it has been for some FBS teams when playing Navy, Army or GT. After a while, you can figure it out - the reason for the death of the single wing in most high school programs. Le't hope the defense can control it early and often and not give up any big plays and momentum.

On offense, ball control will be key. No turnovers. Pound the rock behind that line and nix it up between X, Dykes and Howard to keep all fresh. Taks advantage of the size of the WR corps over a relatively shorter secondary and LB group at JU.

This game is important for a lot of reasons, but morale for the season is the most important in my opinion. A loss here would be a crusher, not what is needed heading into BC.

I agree, the key for this game will be stopping Jacksonville option attack. Their goal is going to use clock and hold onto the ball. I have watched Navy and GaTech for past several years, and even against some good defenses, their offenses can be difficult to stop. Secret, is making them have to face Third and long. Passing is not their comfort zone.

Army is the best example I've ever seen at ball control. average 3 yards on 4 downs over and over and over. Look at some of their time of possessions. we've got to get some tackles for loss.

Not what I would call a good effort, Jacksonville is really really bad. We will need some kind of passing game to open up the run, or it's going to be a very long year.

Love our new kicker!

Where the heck is everybody? Very good first half controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Two turnovers in second half were bad and otherwise would have been a complete blowout. Played a lot of guys in the second half which also made score closer.

One negative I saw was throwing the football. We won't be able to manhandle CAA teams like we did today so we will have to find a way to throw the ball down field to be successful.

And as expected the jmuers are being Dillweeds by their snide remarks about our game with Jax tonight.

Looked good in the first. Sloppy second half. Not sure we have good enough QB play to be a good team, but seem to have more talent than we’ve had in recent years.
