I have enjoyed Spiders football since the 60's and I do not remember any season marked by as many highs and lows as this one...
it was a great season played in the middle of one adversity and distraction after another culminating in the crazy coaching saga at the end, which seems to have ended as well as it could for the Spiders...
one thing was reinforced for me during all the post season rumors and speculation about the future of Spiders football...my love for it and the entertainment, fellowship and camaraderie it brings me with other Spiders fans...I would hate to think about July to early January without it...
I contacted AD Gill and Dr. Crutcher during the coaching saga to express my support for Richmond football...this was before the hiring of Coach Huesman...I plan to let them know again how I feel about this strong hire and the desire to compete for FCS Championships...
I encourage any Spiders fans who have a similar affinity for Richmond football to do likewise...we have come out of the soap opera in what appears to be good shape...now is the time to reinforce your commitment to the program...keep buying tickets, donate if you can, if you can't, let Dr. Crutcher know you support the Huesman hire and competing for FCS National Championships...
now I'm going to take a good rest until National Signing Day...
