Or played a little better defense and stopped one less of their shots, especially a second chance one.
Tyler was 1- 12 with 4 rebounds against VCU and 2-9 with 3 rebounds against Davidson. We lost both of these games in the closing seconds. If he had played an average game we would have blown both teams out. This team has the capability on winning the A10 tournament.
Same can be said for the top half of the conference..sometimes the ball bounces your way, sometimes it doesn't....bill parcels said it best 'ur what your record says ur'

Agreed. And if Goose had been ready to play 20 minutes v SLU, we would have won that game. Goose only played 2 minutes. He could have reduced Yuri Collins’ productivity. Good news is that we get SLU at home with a productive Andre.
Finishing is this team's problem and always has been. Drake, Maryland, Mississippi State, Davidson, VCU....all games we should have won or at a minimum could have won. I would like to think last night springboards us into a place of confidence where we start closing those games out moving forward, but time will tell.
Definitely was nice to not have the late game fade last night. I looked up at the clock towards the end of the game and was surprised that there were less than two minutes left in the game because the Spiders kept it going all half.

They will have to get a top 4 seed to win the A-10 Tournament. Sadly, it's the same focus every year about this time. Have to get a top seed to win the tournament, have to win the tournament to get into the NCAA Tournament. Every year. Year after year....

This is probably the best chance we've had since 2011.

* The best team in the league is one we have owned in recent years and should have beaten this year already.
* The other teams that typically give us trouble are not nearly what they have been in the past.
* The tournament is 90 minutes from our campus.
* Our players and coach should be as motivated as they've ever been to win, since it's the last chance for a number of them.

I'm all in for tourney this year .. hope we have a large Spiders crowd that shows up in DC ...
Nah, we would have just given up a couple more buckets to them in that situation. If we could get stops, we would be really good. We can't.
I will say the Bonnie game was our first 40 minute effort all year. Really nice to see what this team can do when they come out and play a full 40 minutes.
Stop making excuses. Actually win the game. We competed when you notice how close we were. It's why Mooney is still around. Well we only lost by 2 or 4. YOU STILL LOST THE GAME
