Wickersham has always been a big question for me with vertical passing. Everything for the most
part is short. Great 20 yd pass to the WR and to TE but other than that he passed all short. Wofford
strategy is stop the run and make him pass which I think is a good strategy. Fake FG should have been
stopped.

Huesman is a loser.

Running up the middle with 3rd and goal from the 7 does not show they have a lot of confidence in the qb

You don't win many close games with a highly predictable offense. Coleman has a much more diverse game, and IMHO he gives us better opportunities to win. I only hope that Huesman doesn't wait until the last 4 games to play Coleman because playing him early forces our opponents to have to prepare for BOTH quarterbacks.

I like Wickersham but come on. What's his average yard per reception (not including YACs)? Swing pass to the left, swing pass to the right. Dinks and passes under 5 yards. I guess he did have a good percentage... like a 7ft center who only dunks.

You don't win many close games with a highly predictable offense. Coleman has a much more diverse game, and IMHO he gives us better opportunities to win. yeah, they have all been better than Mooney hence why they came, kicked his ass, and moved on to greener pastures and paydays.

Well, I think it comes down to fit. Fit with the school, fit with the coaches, fit with the other players. Barksdale is from Newport News so perhaps he wants to play closer to home. So, yeah on paper, of course Miami looks like a superior option but obviously not for Barksdale specific wants and desire.

don't know how UR and VCU compare in NIL $.
location could have been a factor in VCU vs Butler or Miami for a Newport News kid.
when it comes to VCU vs UR ... yes, VCU's been better. but we've been a vey good team the last 5 years. the 2 schools are just very different. some people will prefer one, some the other. it almost feels weird to me when we're in direct competition for a kid.

Kneepad, 80's has confirmed loosening of academic standards. I do believe this to be proven out, not that I am aware of any individual player's academic situation - however I have not heard of this issue cropping up recently - which we did hear a few times with specific players earlier in Moon's regime. It does seem in this NIL/Portal era that academics are very rarely ever cited in any school or league - its basically $$$$ now.

As SF will tell you, I was probably irrationally exuberant on Soulis last season. I still think he can be a wild card this season. He lost a year last season - but I do still see him as a high ceiling guy. To Sman's point - if we were to go with two bigs - I believe Soulis is best suited as a more athletic 4 - that could get out to shooters on the perimeter and potentially be a match up problem on the offensive end. Problem for him is that it would seem Dusan is more proven, and maybe even Glou slides into the stretch 4 for some minutes, though I hope he has enough ball skills to be more of a wing.
