The Wofford coach knew he’d win when the score was 5-0 at the 12 min mark of the 2Q and his offense had -4 yards.We should’ve scored at least an additional 2TDs at that point were it not for our offensive ineptitude.Coach October is not responsible for throwing the ball with accuracy,zip and assuredness.He is not responsible for seeing the totality of the field and reacting with a modicom of mental acuity.He is not responsible for throwing outside the pocket while on the move which provides for a better view of open receivers.
The manner in which our offense played was demoralizing for the fan,casual observer,and most probably the players on both sides of the ball.An embarrassment.Its not that we lost but rather why and how we lost.
I have been to an immeasurable number of UR games since the age of 10(for 64 years).
The game yesterday was unequivocally the most painful to watch at any venue,home or away which I have ever witnessed over those 64 years.
The absence of Coleman is a Huseman decision.Plain and simple.His postgame comments bordered on illiteracy.To put Coleman in the game with 6mins remaining and down 2TDs is being blatantly oblivious to the obvious.It wasn’t fair to the kid either.
