Women: @Temple Game thread: Mon 11/4 - 8pm ESPN+

Nice start without the PG Alston who I think was expected to play a major role. Hopefully her injury (?) is not long term and she’s back soon.
This article mentions she had a minor surgery and the SpiderWBBall Twitter account posted a picture where is wearing a boot on her right foot, so I’m guessing something ankle related. Would be great if she is able to come back against Fairfield next week (who beat Arkansas handily in the home opener). My guess is that it won’t be the case. Hopefully she’s back by 11/30 where we have a stretch against: Oklahoma State, Georgetown, Columbia, Texas, Tennessee, and Alabama.

'24-'25 Spiders Friends and Family

Opening night updates on former Spiders:
  • Marcus Randolph - Started for St. Peter's against Seton Hall and played 23 minutes before fouling out. Scored 9 points on 2-7 FG, 1 steal but 4 TO.
  • Isaiah Wilson - Played 12 minutes off the bench for Campbell in their blowout win over Piedmont University. Didn't score but had 6 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 steals.
  • Aidan Noyes - Started for Belmont in their W over Maryville College. 9 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists.
  • Jason Nelson - YSU had to postpone their game tonight due to a campus-wide power outage. That's a first for me.
  • Trevor Smith - Played 21 minutes off the bench for Hampton, scoring 11 points with 4 assists and 3 rebounds. Shot 3-10 from the field, 2-8 from 3PT.
  • Malcolm Dread - DNP in the Mount's W over Notre Dame Maryland.

Just fyi Wilson plays for Winthrop not Campbell. Easy to mix up silver spoon names.

Greg Beckwith

There was a really nice segment on Behind the Web last night where Greg's wife, Julie, called in to the show to thank the entire Richmond community and share some thoughts on Beck's legacy.

It starts at around 1:05:50 at the below link, and highly recommend everyone take a listen. She was a joy to listen to and it serves as a great reminder that this school allows us to be a part of such a tight-knit and loving community.

Coaches Ellis and Noel deserve a ton of credit for our success on the DL.

Maintaining possession, giving the defensive recovery time, and putting opposing offenses in predictable must pass situations. The last series for Towson when we got 3 straight sacks was a thing of beauty. DL did major damage against Delaware as well.
Towson Coach Pete Shinnick, who's team played FCS #1 North Dakota State earlier in the season, compared the Spiders DL favorably to the NDST DL...that's a pretty big compliment!

Honestly right now the DL is our best weapon. But if our offense is maintaining possession and giving the DL
recovery time, we are dangerous.

Around the A-10: 2024–25 Edition

Eh. Can u put a major dent in close to non existent chances. Like us their ooc schedule prevented it anyway & Santa Clara was 1 of their best ooc games which they lost.
Exactly, like us, SLU pretty much as to run the table and losing one of their marqee games (if you can call it that) is game, set, match. It will dent their NET ranking though, which will impact the league going forward, as SLU was supposed to be one of the better teams in the league this year.
